Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker Reviews
Throes of the Watchmaker is a free DLC expansion for Sea of Stars that deepens its turn-based gameplay with stronger character arcs, vibrant new locales, and a heightened challenge, though some pacing issues and a lackluster supporting cast hold it back from true greatness.
A comfortable adventure that doesn't stray far from the formula already established in Sea of Stars, benefiting from a shorter campaign with better pacing and standing out thanks to its circus-themed aesthetic, featuring highly charismatic visuals and animations.

Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker adds an extra campaign that somehow surpasses the base game, and it won't cost you a penny.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is a solid expansion that brings a journey full of novelties and allows a little more nuance to the characterization of the two protagonists. Overall, the experience manages to maintain the charm and charisma of the base game and is strongly recommended for those who want to live a little more of what this universe has to offer.

A post-game story DLC that still stands alone from the main narrative, Throes of the Watchmaker is an entertaining side-romp that presents new abilities, mechanics, and character development for the characters that Sea of Stars fans have grown to love.
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker may not be a huge chunk of story, but it has a playtime of almost 10 hours. The DLC knows exactly what it wants to be: a lovingly told addition that closes an unresolved chapter, expands the Sea of Stars universe and is convincing in terms of both narrative and gameplay. The new mechanics, the focus on the clockmaker and her time-traveling clockwork lock as well as the multitude of small convenience features make this DLC a must-have for fans of the genre.
