Morgan: Metal Detective

Critic Reviews for Morgan: Metal Detective
Morgan: Metal Detective isn’t the gaming equivalent of digging up buried treasure, but equally it’s more enjoyable than digging up horseshoes. If you’ve got two hours and a Steam Deck or handheld PC then curl up on the sofa and enjoy a wander around the Cornish coast with Morgan and her metal detector.
Morgan: Metal Detective has an interesting mystery to solve via finding buried objects. It’s a short adventure, but I didn’t dig it as much as I hoped.
A flawed but charming treasure hunt that offers a relaxing escape, perfect for moments when you just want to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of gaming.
Weirdly, it’s not hard to imagine a world where Morgan: Metal Detective didn’t devolve into an endless trip of scanning and digging – it just would’ve taken a few less random items to come across, and you would’ve had a cute, relaxing game with fun characters and pleasant visuals. As it stands, though, anyone who picks it up hoping for a cozy respite will probably come to regret it.
