Dream Echo serves as a strong core to build upon. While it currently has too little variation because of the specialised builds it asks players to make, there is enough here to create most classic ARPG builds desired, such as defensive melee builds, ranged chaos, and summons. The roguelike elements also enhance the ARPG wonderfully thanks to the amount of control given and the fact that they prevent runs from feeling repetitive.
Developed as a PoE-like, DreamEcho is an ARPG that places heavy emphasis on gear and broken synergies, tasking the player with creating a broken build to take on an endless dream world. The game's combat leaves much to be desired, as well as its automated translation, which makes creating builds difficult. While thematically brilliant, DreamEcho simply fails to engage on multiple fronts.
