Great graphics, great gameplay and a very well designed online mode make this game an absolute no-brainer for anyone with an interest in strategy games, and it even makes a strong case to appeal to those who aren’t usually that interested

8-Bit Armies is a fast-paced and simple looking version of more advanced and realistic RTS games. Despite it looking rather cute and innocent, there's a lot of pixel mayhem to be had in this rather mechanically deep strategy game. Sure, you'll be whizzing through the missions quite fast at around 10-15 minutes each, but you'll be returning to them once you've unlocked more units so you can unlock more of the elusive stars. Unfortunately 8-Bit Armies' attempt at console strategy is simplified to the point that it outstays its welcome after a few hours. Perhaps if you have someone who you can rely on to play against it might be worth picking up, but otherwise it's probably not going to last long enough to be worth it.

8-Bit Armies is a fun distilled RTS experience on PlayStation 4 that has plenty of single player and multiplayer content for you to enjoy. The game is easy to get the hang of, as you split your units into group, build structures to open the way for you to build other structures and create new units so that you can keep your enemies at bay before you can go on the offensive. It's a solid entry in the genre, and one you're going to enjoy.
