Western Press shoots from the hip, right through the heart.

Western Press is a silly game, but there should always be a market for silly games, and at a discount price it’s great for a laugh between friends.

Western Press makes for a brilliant and inexpensive party game. Its basic nature means you're not going to get much out of it when played on your own, whether online or offline, but with friends it's an absolute riot.

There's one great and one awful thing about Western Press, and both can be summed up in one word: simplicity. The non-complexity of going mano a mano against another gamer, and just having to press a series of buttons as fast as possible is surely fun, despite not being something special… but the excitement cannot exactly last for long - especially when the basic premise is as simplistic as the bonus stages of far older video games.

Western Press is fun, but only for a short while. The mechanics are every bit as simple as they sound, and no amount of customization can really change that. Some of the modes and options result in an unbalanced difficulty, which is particularly damning for a game that has so little content from the get go.
