Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault Reviews
Mech Land Assault falls completely flat. The mechs are great, but they also make missions and liberating towns way too easy (the same way the jetpack made flying way too easy and thereby less interesting). There are only two missions, both of which are completely bland. Oh, and also you're forced to liberate the entire DLC island because if there is one thing that people were clamoring for, it was more town liberations.
Mech Land Assault is not here to make friends. This piece of DLC is made up of some of the most fun—and some of the least fun—you’ll have in Just Cause 3. It’s harder to get your hands on a mech than it should be, but it’s a power trip every time you do.
More fun and better balanced than the first DLC in Just Cause 3’s season pass, Land Mech Assault suffers from the same issue of having just an overall lack of content to hold your attention for very long.
In all, I’m happy with the DLC, just annoyed that it is so short. It’s fun to use the mechs and it’s interesting to learn more about Medici’s past for a lore hound like me.
Mech Land Assault is an acceptable, but not substantial addition to Just Cause 3’s DLC vault. It goes nicely with the previous chunks, but time will have to tell if it completely changes the landscape compared to what else the game will provide in the future. Otherwise, the mechs are the true and only standout.
