Resogun Reviews
Resogun is free on PS+ and is that good, that you feel like you are ripping off Housemarque, that they should be getting your money for this. You shouldn't be playing this game for free! If you are one of the few who hasn't got PS+ you can still buy the game and trust us when we say £12.99 on Resogun is money better spent than on any other title at launch.
Resogun also falls a little short when it comes to a lack of variety. It's nice to have three ships but there are only five stages, and this – coupled with the basic nature of the gameplay – makes things feel somewhat repetitive. Besides that, this is an old-school shooter with a massive, awesome upgrade, one that's slick, polished, and ceaselessly entertaining.
'Resogun' was first out of the gate for the launch of the PlayStation 4, and there's a reason why Sony chose this downloadable title to be one of the first added to the PlayStation Plus Game Collection. Its impressive visuals, slickly smooth gameplay, and addictive score chase are a perfect match for the start of this new console generation. Although the number of levels currently available are small, and the variety of ships to play with are few, there's no denying 'Resogun' deserves a place among the PlayStation 4 family. Whether as a free game to start your next-gen addiction, or paid for in full, 'Resogun' should find a way into your gaming library sooner rather than later.
Video games aren't solely about seeing pores on someone's face or shoving as many zombies on screen as possible. They are about gameplay, about the thrills of sneaking through enemy fire or detonating a bomb at the last second to save yourself. Resogun is a blissful reminder that no matter what system you play them on, sometimes the simple games are the best.
Resogun may not break any new ground with all the newfangled technology at its command, but it offers a level of entertainment that tends to be in short supply in the early days of a new platform. It comes highly recommended.
