Critic Reviews for Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition

Titan Quest for Nintendo Switch is just as insufficient as the other versions. Despite its virtues, this jewel of 2006 hasn't stood the test of time well. It's only a good option for those who didn't play it in the past.

A true pleasure this return in Titan Quest 11 years later. A good surprise from THQ Nordic in 2017. This game is a true fresh air of nostalgia for lot of PC players. Is it a sign for a come back of the licence, perhaps with a Titan Quest 2 ? In all case, this DLC is a great job with very interesting new specialisation and a fascinating lore.

Like many ARPGs, Titan Quest is repetitive, and yet, strangely addictive… until its gargantuan levels, hundreds of boring fights, and unexciting skills bore you to death - and, the great (in concept) dual class system can't save this. Now, although the developer could patch this up a lot better, the main fault goes to the core material, because this anniversary edition will surely please those who loved the original, and that's always a good thing. As for the rest of you… tread cautiously.

Titan Quest on the Switch is a solid port. The game looks good, runs smoothly in portable and docked modes (most of the time) and controls well. Other players have experienced some fairly serious bugs, but in my lengthy time with the game things have been largely smooth sailing. Whilst the port is a little unambitious in scope and shows its age in spots, over a decade later Titan Quest remains a blast to play and is just as addictive as ever.
