Out of the Park Baseball 18 is one of the best sport-simulation games on the market. Lagging slightly behind its football rival primarily due to a terrible interface. Once you get sucked in, though, it's extremely compelling and a great learning aid if you know little about baseball.

Out of the Park 18 once again provides an excellent baseball management simulation experience.  While it can be a bit overwhelming for those who don’t closely follow the sport, it’s still an excellent baseball management simulator for anyone wanting to manage their own team or even their own league.

Out of the Park Baseball 18 is just another fantastic entrant into the game's series and is perhaps the best-received new release in years. Clean, sleek, accurate, and easy to learn and navigate, OOTP 18 gives players ultimate control over their team, in any form, year, or league they choose. The inclusion of new leagues, new features, and the all-new Challenge Mode enhances a game I already consider the capstone of the genre. A must-own for any sport simulation fans.

Improving over the 17 version wasn't an easy feat, but the devs did it. Hats off.

Out of the Park Baseball 18 is a game that is a must for hardcore baseball fans, there's no doubt about that. But, the most pleasantly surprising aspect of this game is how it can make a fan out of someone who knows very little about baseball like myself. It feels like the ultimate simulator, with immense levels of detail, great matchday visuals, and statistics to make any tactical statistician scream with joy. This game is so immersive that it makes you wonder how they can improve on the game next year - but something makes me think they'll manage it just fine.

Despite these issues, Out of the Park 18 is a competent entry in a legendary franchise which offers management enthusiasts a staggering about of depth. Whether you already love baseball or you're yet to discover what truly makes the sport great, OOTP's robust engine and deep customisation options cater for the needs of any player. It's a fairly steep learning curve starting out, but once OOTP hits its groove, it's sure to captivate your attention for years (or at least until OOTP 19 rolls around).
