Genre: Real-Time Strategy
Real-time strategy has been crossed with tower defence to provide retro-styled gameplay reminiscent of the late ’90s. Korix features a replayable 3 to 5 hour campaign, skirmish and online multiplayer (2 to 4 player co-op or vs).
Korix - Gameplay Trailer | PS VR
Korix is a good strategy, tower defence title for PlayStation VR with solid gameplay, bright and vibrant visuals, and outstanding motion control tracking. Unfortunately, there are some issues with guidance for new players, and only having a small online community means the multiplayer component may go underutilised. Still, this title is definitely worth picking up if you have a few friends who you want to nuke.
If you can get a multiplayer game going there's a bit more strategy involved, I guess, but there isn't much of a community wrapped around this one, leaving Korix feeling like a game that had a good idea buried away in there, but fails to give people the VR strategy experience that they'll be looking for.
Korix takes the RTS genre and puts its own little twist on it. It's simple to get into but if you intend to master the intricacies and explore its hidden depths in the multiplayer component, you'll need to invest some time and really get your tactical mind to work.
