Mortal Blitz Reviews
We had some fun with Mortal Blitz's brief 90 minute campaign, but it's hard to ignore the lack of imagination that's gone into its makeup. For every moment of glee, mostly afforded by the VR headset than any real design philosophy, there's an equal moment of disappointment. As a genre, it perfectly suits the VR medium, but the repetitive and uninspiring design leaves little to reflect on with too much positivity.
Mortal Blitz is a perfectly fun on-rails shooter that doesn't do enough to distinguished itself from other on-rails shooters available on the market. Still, if you enjoy the genre, you'll probably get an hour or two of fun out of it.
There might not be much depth here over the long term, but for some short bursts of frenetic action, it absolutely has the lightgun genre nailed.
For an on rails, arcade shooter Mortal Blitz is fun and worth playing even if you have to wait for a sale to do so.
Mortal Blitz VR has enough shortcomings to fill a virtual swimming pool, but the shooting and ducking for cover work so well--not to mention the lack of other quality PSVR shooters--that it nearly makes this a must buy.
