Period Cube is a good otome visual novel with great visuals, interesting characters, and nice music but one with a derivative and cheesy story that let it down.
Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ brings an overdone premise with a reasonable romance. Despite its lack of innovation, it's still a pleasant experience for fans of the genre that have been waiting for more until now.

Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ is a great Otome visual novel on PlayStation Vita with a solid story, great graphics and a ton of content to experience. If you're a fan of the genre, then you're going to love this entry. But even if you're not a fan, this PS Vita release is the perfect entry point into Otome so that you can see what all the fuss is about.
Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ is a lovely Otome visual novel that fans of the genre will certainly enjoy on PS Vita. The MMO twist for the story is played out nicely in the story without it ever getting in the way of player's enjoyment of the overall story arc and the romance potential. There's a ton of things to do in the game and plenty of characters to interact with, especially if you aim at seeing all cutscenes so that you can get a new Platinum tropyhy for your collection!
Outstanding production values, smooth technical features and entertaining romantic entanglements go a long way towards making this Otomate title a pleasure to play; but the lack of overriding originality, and falling back on some of the stock filler props of the VN genre, hold it back from being a truly innovative iteration in the crowded field of stories of players imprisoned in a virtual world. Not every game needs to be innovative, however, to provide thoughtful entertainment, and Period: Cube most certainly provided me with that in good measure.
Overall, Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ is a great game that may have a few downs when it comes to the dictionary words and the way some of the people in the game treated each other but nothing to the point it made the game unpleasant to play. Throughout, I never got bored and I was excited to know when the ending was coming because my favorite parts are when the men FINALLY confess their love for you in the most romantic way. This is a game I would tell my girlfriends to play because it didn’t take very long to play through all the characters and it was nice having a different style visual novel.
Overall, Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ is an amazing written Visual Novel with great characters to romance and offers one of the most beautiful Otome/ Visual Novel experiences. It´s lacking story and telling, are easily overshadowed by the great characters and realistic romances created by them. Instead of a huge cast it focuses on only a handful characters, spread across different routes, to create a huge amount of different and memorable playthroughs and experiences.
