Aven Colony Reviews
The first impressions of Aven Colony are great, as you build your first colony, finding your way on this alien world. It doesn't take too long before you start to see the limitations, whether by design or by mistake, leaving this as a city builder that's easy to pick up and play, but one that could do with a little more depth.
Technical issues aside, Aven Colony still draws you in for more. With little conversations between characters on missions propelling an intriguing little story forward, there's a lot of potential here. It's an engaging and satisfying experience, and gives you a different experience from the Sim Cities of old.
One of the best build em ups!
Aven Colony bravely attempts to bring a PC-style sim to consoles and, for the most part, it succeeds. Controls and user-interface can make or break such a game, but while the controls are on-point, the performance isn't. The campaign isn't all that interesting from a story stand-point, and you'll need to up the difficulty to get a challenge out of it, but if you're a fan of city building sims then you'll find something to enjoy here.
Aven Colony has shaped itself up well with the other city-building game that are on the market today. It offers a Campaign mode with a good story line and an array of different objects to help mix it up a bit as well as having the sandbox mode that allows for endless, customisable fun.
There really isn’t much to dislike about the wonderful world of Aven Prime, so if you are in need of a new city sim, then there will quite possibly be nothing better than heading to Aven Colony for a brand new space travelling adventure
As players colonize a vastly different alien world with varying difficulties, the tediousness that usually comes with the genre is left behind
It's as absorbing as it is relaxing, and it does a good job at bringing its own to the table whilst still retaining what makes city builders fun and challenging.
