Critic Reviews for SeaBed
It's exciting to see a game like SeaBed receive an official English translation.
SeaBed is a beautiful, emotional work of digital literature that won't be to everyone's taste, but come in with the appropriate expectations and there's a true masterpiece of the visual novel medium waiting to be enjoyed here.
What did bring me pause was a simple question: "Who's talking right now?".
In short, SeaBed is a beautiful game. Some pacing issues aside, it's a poignant exploration of love and heartbreak that manages to feel both grounded and ethereal. One thing's for sure: this isn't a game I'll forget in a hurry.
The Switch has no shortage of this genre at this point, but SeaBed might just be the most meaningful of them all.
This was one of the slower visual novel games I’ve ever played, but that’s not necessarily always a bad thing. It has an interesting, reflective story that I found enjoyable and I found I could play it before bed without getting too hyped up to sleep. But on the other hand, it wasn’t a story I was excited to pick up every day and never felt really compelled to learn more about the characters.
