TRI: Of Friendship and Madness Reviews
TRI: Of Friendship and Madness redefines the first-person puzzler through creative simplicity.
This may sound strange, but TRI offers a zen-like experience. Its mostly empty areas provide players with full control over handling every problem.
TRI: Of Friendship and Madness' name is appropriate: It is easy to get pulled in by the gorgeous visuals, fall under the spell of the powerful soundtrack, experience the exhilarating elevation of solving a hard level, have bucketsful of fun with the creative freedom the game offers, and naturally want to pet the adorable foxes. On the flip side, the difficulty of later levels is likely to drive the genre newcomer up the triangles-covered wall.
The easy comparison is games like Portal or Q.U.B.E. due to the perspective and puzzling nature of the gameplay. Though TRI lacks the polish and presentation of the more popular Portal titles, its sheer accessibility and serenity mark it out as something genuinely different, and as such deserves to be noticed.
