The new story, whilst fun and camp and brimming with all the 80s action-movie nonsense that NetherRealm so shamelessly references, is just a bit underwhelming.
With many additions included alongside its feature length campaign, including its downloadable characters, handful of skins and new arena’s, and of course Cary Tagawa’s own campaign, you will not be disappointed by this astonishing adventure. Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is essential gaming for hardcore, and old-school fans of its historic legacy.
A nice add-on for franchise completionists but largely superfluous for more casual fans, especially when weighed against the strength and value of vanilla MK11.
I really enjoyed the Aftermath story campaign, though, appreciating all the twists and turns it presented throughout, watching a mastermind like Shang Tsung at work. Price range aside, it’s an absolute must for Mortal Kombat fans and is sure to set the fan theories into overdrive as to what comes next.
...Those who have never played MK11 before can purchase the base game, the Kombat Pack and Aftermath for $59.99. This is an absolute steal for what may be the best fighting game of the generation. Aftermath reinvigorated Mortal Kombat 11 in such a way I can’t help but not recommend it.
The new DLC brings more fun to an already great game, however, it should have been available at a more reasonable price point.
