Critic Reviews for La-Mulana 1 & 2

Both La-Mulana games are excellent experiences for gamers looking to master elaborate 2D worlds filled with challenging bosses, platforming scenarios, and puzzles. With that said, it can still be a frustrating affair and one that casual gamers should avoid.

LA-MULANA 1 & 2 are games that have an incomparable spirit, and certainly have great intentions, but I think that the basic execution fails at a resounding level that is raised by having those desires, which are palpable throughout both installments. Much like the father-daughter duo that comprise its protagonists, La-Mulana 1 & 2 are clever, tough-as-nails, and don’t hold anything back. La-Mulana 1 & 2 Hidden Treasures Edition is an interesting package for anyone looking for games with a focus on the high degree of challenge within the metroidvania genre. Although they are debuting on the current generation consoles, the games do not bring any improvements or novelties, such as galleries or new modes, things that usually exist in games released in the form of a collection or re-releases.
