If you've played Alan Wake 2 and saw references to Control, it's not just an Easter egg that Remedy Entertainment snuck into the game. In case you didn't know, Alan Wake and Control are all in the Remedy Connected Universe and are part of the studio's grand design.
The initial connection started with Control's AWE (Altered World Event) DLC, and last year's excellent horror game Alan Wake 2 tied to it even more, with a full crossover DLC titled The Lake House that starred Control's Kiran Estevez. In Remedy's universe, Estevez is a Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) field agent stationed at Bright Falls.
Remedy Says It's Too Early To Talk About Connected Universes' Endgame
In a video chat with IGN (via GamesRadar), Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake mentioned that the studio is "just getting started" connecting their games together into one shared universe, and how "it's too early to start talking about an endgame."
Lake adds, "I love making it deeper and expanding on the lore. It really feels like this kind of opportunity to take these strands that we have put there, expand, entertain different ideas. It feels really exciting. And the way we are looking at it...
