Microsoft has officially announced the first dedicated Xbox handheld device, and it's hitting stores this holiday season. The company has long been rumored to be working on a handheld platform to accompany its home console. Earlier this month, a leak hinted that the coming handheld device, codenamed "Keenan," was close to completion.
The rumors have turned out to be true: During the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft announced the release of the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X. Both devices will be available in time for the holidays this year and will allow players to take both Xbox and PC gaming on the go with them.
The upcoming Xbox handheld was revealed to be a collaboration with ROG (short for Republic of Gamers), a gaming computer brand owned by ASUS. The official console will allow players to access their console games seamlessly with Xbox controls paired with the power of a PC.
The trailer also shows off several games that will be playable on the ROG Ally and Ally X, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Gears of War, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
