Rocket League is celebrating Halloween this year with the Ghostbusters

Rocket League's Halloween event, Haunted Hallows, is celebrating with the Ghostbusters starting today. According to the game's blog, the event will last until November 2nd. Throughout the event, players will be able to unlock and purchase special items based off of the Ghostbusters franchise. There will also be two limited modes for gamers to compete in.

Throughout Haunted Hallows, players will be able to take on a number of Event Challenges to unlock Haunted Hallows-themed items. Challenges include getting five goals, assists, or saves in online matches, or gaining three XP levels. Items that players can unlock include the Ghostbuster Wheels, Slimer Topper, and Mood Slime Boost. Players will also be able to earn Golden Pumpkins from Event Challenges, which will contain items from the Turbo, Nitro, and Vindicator Series.

Additional spooky items can be purchased at the game's Item Shop throughout the event. Gamers will find items from Ghostbusters and previous Haunted Hallows events. This includes the Stay Puft and Reaper Goal Explosions, and the iconic Ecto-1. It was revealed that this is the first licensed vehicle that is making its way back to the Item Shop, with developer Psyonix stating that they are looking to bring previous licensed back too.

Two Limited Time Modes are being brought back for this year's Haunted Hallows: Haunted Heatseeker and Spike Rush. Haunted Heatseeker is Heatseeker based in in the new Haunted Urban Area, and Spike Rush will take place on night map variants. Haunted Heatseeker is available to play right now, while Spike rush will begin on October 26th and will last until the end of the event.

Rocket League is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. The game went free-to-play last month, with the game's first Season officially starting last month as well.
