Krafton Hits Back At Subnautica Creators, Says Sequel Was Delayed To Prevent "Irreversible Harm To The Entire Franchise"

Subnautica 2 is currently right in the middle of a heated legal battle between creators Ted Gill, Charlie Cleveland, and Max McGuire and publisher Krafton. After being dismissed earlier this year, Gill, Cleveland, and McGuire have gone after Krafton for delaying the game into 2026, which they perceive as an attempt to cheat them out of a massive bonus that was included as part of the EPA agreement that was signed when Krafton acquired Unknown Worlds.

Krafton has always claimed that Subnautica 2 has never been ready for its early access release, laying the blame firmly at the feet of the creators, claiming that they had "abandoned the responsibilities entrusted to them". Over the past couple of month, both parties have been locked in a battle of 'he-said she-said', which has resulted in the two going to court.

Krafton has now responded to the legal challenge served up to them, once again claiming that Subnautica 2 has never been ready for an early access release in its eyes.
