I don't want to ruffle any feathers here. Some people do love Tekken 8. And that's great. Positivity is good! Enjoyment is good! Don't listen to negativity echo chambers! But Tekken 8's more recent reception has been filled with more middling takes, and plenty of downright pessimistic ones. The second season has come under a great deal of fire, and for fair reasons, at that.
Katsuhiro Harada, the creative director overseeing the Tekken franchise since its inception, thinks the negative sentiments are overblown. Not in the sense that he's dismissing them; to the contrary, he values them greatly. Rather, Harada doesn't think there's as much of it overall as the internet might make it seem.
As part of an excellent interview over at GameSpot, Harada voiced his thoughts on Tekken 8's alleged season two woes. He starts out strong:
