Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Discovers One Underrated Cantrip Isn’t As Useless As It Seems

It's easy to brush off any of the weaker cantrips in Baldur's Gate 3 as being useless, but one player recently discovered the true power of these small abilities.

Reddit user TheVictorianOnYT shared their experience with finding an obscure use for the Minor Illusion cantrip. You can't do as much with the spell as you can with its DnD counterpart, so many people prioritize spells that can deal damage or have more obvious perks. However, this player discovered just how useful this ability can be.

Minor Illusion summons a conjured cat, which can distract enemies with its "meow" ability. This draws any creatures within a 60ft radius closer to the illusion. By exploiting this feature, TheVictorianOnYT was able to turn the assault on Moonrise Towers into a breeze.

They did this by luring every single one of the Absolute's zealots outside the towers. Since this area is surrounded by deep water, which is classified as a chasm, they were simply able to push each one of their enemies to their deaths. They even managed to pull a similar trick on top of the towers and pick off a few of the Necromites without alerting Ketheric Thorm.
