After over a decade, Skyblivion is finally nearing the finish line, with the release date pencilled in for 2025. But former developer Dee Keyes alleges that this goal is "pointless and unachievable".
In a lengthy Twitter post about the project's recent shortcomings (via Rock Paper Shotgun), Keyes pins much of the blame on Heavyburns, who was initially brought on board to help with dev diaries and trailers.
Keyes claims that Heavyburns would only make a new trailer if it included a release date, so the 2025 launch was announced because that's what "would get the most views", not because the project was nearing completion. "The announcement of the release date was a massive mistake," Keyes put it plainly.
Keyes alleges that, in the years since, Heavyburns has taken on a more prominent role and become the de facto leader of the team, only making things more difficult.
"It seemed like [project lead] Rebelzize wanted to do less managing on the project and instead delegate everything over to Heavyburns," Keyes said. "I've had many unfortunate experiences working with Heavyburns on this project and found them to be very difficult to work with, from not listening or respecting my opinion to gaslighting...
