FromSoftware has recently delayed Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to 2026. While the delay could be frustrating for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, it’s not entirely surprising, as Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was reportedly struggling with optimization.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition was announced earlier this year for the Nintendo Switch 2, originally aiming for a 2025 release. This upcoming version of Elden Ring will come with both the base game and the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion, featuring new armor, weapons, and Torrent customization features, as well as two new classes: Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight. Fortunately for gamers who don’t have a Switch 2, the new content will also be available for other platforms after the launch.
Unfortunately, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition has been delayed to 2026. FromSoftware shared the news by explaining that the delay was made to “allow time for performance adjustments.” Anyone who has been following Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition closely will not be entirely surprised to see the game being pushed to 2026.
