Minecraft creator Notch has revealed that he agrees with the take that Creepers wouldn't be added into the game nowadays since their "random destructive events" are "anti-fun".
As anyone who has been screaming "Chicken Jockey" for the last few months is no doubt aware of, Minecraft is full of iconic mobs that have made a massive impact on the world of gaming. There's no mob that's quite as tied to Minecraft's identity as the Creeper, though, and it's been that way since it was created from a failed pig model and added to the game all the way back in 2009.
While the Creeper has basically become the poster child of Minecraft over the years, it's become clear that developers working on the game don't have the fondest opinion of it. Mojang chief creative officer Jens 'Jeb' Bergensten recently said that the team wouldn't add the Creeper today because of how controversial it would be to have a mob capable of destroying something you've built.
