Arc Raiders is a huge success for Embark Studios, peaking at over 350,000 concurrent players on Steam a couple of days after launch. The extraction shooter has achieved extreme popularity, and all that's left for Embark is to see how long they can extend Arc Raiders' time at the top.
The game has received a lot of praise, with over 55,000 positive reviews on Steam. That being said, one point of contention among players is the price of cosmetics. Arc Raiders already costs $40 to play, and a few of the skins cost $24, over half the price of the game itself.
These high prices have attracted criticism from the community (nice spot, PC Gamer). TheOnlyRealOne43 is clear in their beliefs, saying "Not only are skin prices absurd, but some of them are copy-pasting the majority of an outfit to other outfits and giving them a different head/chest piece."
"I made a thread expressing this exact sentiment, and dolts kept telling me 'no one cares, just don't buy it bro'. How are you gonna just shrug at $25 skin bundles in a $40 game? That's unacceptable," replies Dark_Throat.
