Battlefield 6 is the follow-up to Battlefield 2042, a game that wasn't received with the same positivity and currently has "Mixed" reviews on Steam. On the other hand, Battlefield 6 sits at 71% Mostly Positive, despite a recent influx of negative reviews.
In many ways, Battlefield 6 sees players return to the boots-on-the-ground, quasi-realistic gameplay that the series was initially known for. However, with the launch of Season 1 and the RedSec battle royale mode, audiences have pushed back on the game a bit, pointing out its backslide into "unrealistic" skins, which were a major point of contention in the last game. Other common points of criticism include Battlefield 6's paid battle pass and a bevy of microtransactions, which many argue are out of place in a $70 game. In a new report from EA, it seems these pitfalls haven't broken Battlefield 6's stride, at least commercially.
