The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time—which is rumoured to release in January—has reportedly recast the game's two main characters. In the 2003 version, The Prince was played by Yuri Lowenthal and Farah was played by Joanna Wasick.
A leaked media briefing, posted to Reddit by Blue-Fox-004, shows Ubisoft representatives presenting various key facts about the upcoming remake.
First, we see a fact sheet on Princess Farah, who is not a playable character despite some early rumours to the contrary. Then, we see our two new leads in motion capture suits acting out a confrontational scene between Farah and the Prince. The prince's new actor is certainly more regionally accurate, i.e. more Persian-sounding.
The developers explain the complex process of recreating the game's cutscenes with new motion capture, but they argue the end product justifies the intensive development process.
An outline of the remake's core gameplay loop is then provided. As you'd expect, there's a focus on smooth parkour, puzzle-solving and rewinding time.
