Bit of a thought exercise: does it still count as copium when it's being huffed between tears of apathy? It's not a question I've ever asked myself until today, as I've now become aware of the latest in a long line of 2025 Final Fantasy 9 fare that is not, in fact, the long-rumoured, possibly-canceled, entirely-unannounced remake.
Square Enix has stopped at nothing to celebrate FF9's 25th anniversary in almost every way, delivering a banner year filled with fresh merchandise and cross-promotional efforts that would leave any neglected Final Fantasy 8 fan overjoyed by comparison. Since the year's coming to a close now, the game's most recent gacha crossover might be its last hurrah. At least it's attached to a pretty fun game?

Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space is more than a cool-sounding and long-running gacha from Wright Flyer Studios. It's a collaborative effort between Masato Kato and Yasunori Mitsuda (among many others, to be clear), a writer and composer, respectively.
