It's February, you know what that means. The video game holiday lull is coming to an end, and studios are readying to reveal what they have for us in the year ahead. Following in the footsteps of Xbox's Developer Direct, which went down a storm, is the first Nintendo Direct of the year. Well, the first proper Nintendo Direct of the year, after the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream showcase and the mini Direct for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
I can't believe they still haven't shown us movie Wario.
Today's Direct isn't your typical Nintendo presentation. It's a Partner Showcase, which means if you go in expecting a sneak peek of the next 3D Mario game, you're going to leave disappointed. This Direct is dedicated to the third-party studios bringing games to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, of which there are rumored to be quite a few in the pipeline for the latter.
