Social RPG Book of Travels Goes Single-Player, Ends Active Development | TechRaptor

Social RPG Book of Travels is ending active development and switching to a single-player model instead of its current MMO-lite direction, developer and publisher Might and Delight has announced.

Servers for the game will be shutting down on July 31st this year, and Might and Delight says it's planning to add modding support starting from today. What's more, to reflect the new single-player focus, Book of Travels is now available for just $4.99, and that's not a temporary discount.

Might and Delight says that while its game is "fantastic and wonderful in many ways", the developer ran into "obstacles and problems" during development and "took on more than [it] could handle". As a result, Book of Travels' "foundation...proved unsustainable", hence today's decision.

It's already possible to play Book of Travels entirely offline thanks to today's patch, although you can still play online if you want to. If you'd like to keep the characters you're using online for offline play, you'll need to download them manually from the game's character select menu.

As well as Book of Travels going offline, the game will also be losing its Early Access label. This doesn't reflect Might and Delight adding...
