Crimson Desert has already undergone something of a transformation. When it launched, reviews were mixed, with complaints arising about untameable mounts, dodgy controls, and its awful, awful story. Pearl Abyss immediately began its redemption arc, though.
Fixes for the most troublesome issues were rolled out almost immediately, and bit by bit, the game warmed to players. Within days, it had jumped to "Mostly Positive" on Steam, and online sentiment had almost completely flipped.
But while much of the game has been fixed, one lingering issue has left a bad taste in players' mouths: the bounty missions and how cumbersome they are.
Crimson Desert's bounties are a chore. You grab a leaflet, hunt down the bounty, have a very awkward conversation with them in which there are bizarre pauses in their dialogue, punch them a few times, and then drag them about 40 miles to hand them over to the guards. It's a long process, and one that still frustrates players.
Over on the Crimson Desert subreddit, it's not uncommon for threads to pop up bemoaning the process, but over the last couple of days, one has begun to gain traction, garnering over 600 comments, mostly from frustrated players.
