MindsEye has been a debacle. It was released last summer and was heavily slammed for its lack of content and technical issues. What followed was a slew of refunds, deep discounts, and, sadly, hundreds of lay-offs and allegations of "horrific" crunch. Former Grand Theft Auto lead and MindsEye director, Leslie Benzies, blamed the game's disastrous launch on "Saboteurs," but believed it was capable of a Cyberpunk 2077-esque relaunch.
In February, Build a Rocket Boy released an update to the game, intended as a "reset". That update saw its player count peak with a whopping 12 extra players.
Yesterday, the game got another huge update, but unfortunately, it looks like redemption is still a long way off, with a maximum of 42 players hopping in to play on Steam.
MindsEye's latest update added a new mission, which sees players playing as Julia Black, "a world-class assassin, on a mission to Redrock City to eliminate two key targets," alongside "new Build Arcadia nodes" and a huge array of improvements and bug fixes.
