Neil Newbon's Method Acting Didn't Involve "Being A D*ckhead" In Baldur's Gate 3

Everything we've heard about method acting sounds horrible. While immersing oneself into the psyche of a character makes sense for an actor, we've had incidents that have taken it too far. For instance, Jared Leto allegedly sending people live rats while playing Joker in Suicide Squad and Tom Hanks reportedly getting a staph infection because he refused to bathe while shooting Cast Away. However, none of that is necessary, according to Baldur's Gate 3's Neil Newbon.

The actor's brilliant portrayal of Astarion is one of the game's highlights. He's easily one of, if not the favourite character of everyone who has played Baldur's Gate 3. From a sassy diva to a despairing soul, his performance showed great range. And, while Newbon swears by method acting, he says you don't have to be a "d*ckhead" about it.

"I’m a method actor,” he said in an interview with FRVR. He explained that his career started with “four years of hardcore method”.
