FromSoftware steps outside its usual formula for the first time with Elden Ring Nightreign, clearly aiming to experiment with something different. Considering that this is the studio’s first major multiplayer-focused experience and that Hidetaka Miyazaki was not leading the project directly, I would say it is a fairly successful first attempt. That said, there is another important point to consider: the game is priced the same as Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. From that perspective, Nightreign does not even feel like it offers enough content to compete with a typical DLC expansion.

8 / 10.0 - Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening takes players on a story-driven journey through the Dune universe unlike anything experienced before. With its stunning atmosphere and intriguing narrative, it is an experience that MMORPG fans should absolutely give a chance to at least once.

7 / 10.0 - The Alters
Jul 9, 2025

The Alters delivers an incredibly immersive experience as a modern take on the survival genre. Available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, the game invites players into a carefully crafted cycle of tension and stress that constantly keeps them engaged. 11 bit studios manages to hook players effortlessly — whether they are fans of survival games or not — through its excellent UI design and deeply engaging management systems. More importantly, the narrative fully embraces its concept from beginning to end, giving every task and routine mechanic a strong sense of purpose and motivation.

Anyone who enjoyed playing Death Stranding will most likely enjoy Death Stranding 2: On the Beach as well. It offers roughly 50 hours of gameplay where you wander across mountains and landscapes, take in breathtaking scenery, and slowly follow the story along the way. Still, I cannot help but wish that Hideo Kojima would move away from some of his more eccentric ideas and return a little closer to his old style. Death Stranding has never really been a mainstream experience, but for players who know exactly what kind of game they are looking for, it remains something that absolutely deserves to be experienced.

6.5 / 10.0 - Stellar Blade
Jul 1, 2025

SHIFT UP certainly made a bold move with its first large-scale project. Stellar Blade is a game with clear flaws that can occasionally feel superficial, yet at the same time it shows tremendous potential. In many ways, it feels like a strong first draft — a game that genuinely shines, even if it is not yet polished enough to fully live up to that brilliance.

DOOM: The Dark Ages continues to preserve the fast and aggressive gameplay style the series is known for, while drawing strength from several new mechanics and ideas. Even so, its attempts to simplify the core gameplay loop do not entirely succeed, and instead of feeling more streamlined, the experience occasionally comes across as more ordinary and less distinctive.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 feels unlike almost any story-driven experience we have encountered in recent years. Its narrative is written with such originality and flow that you constantly find yourself unable to step away from the game, driven purely by the desire to discover what happens next.

Warhorse Studios has practically given major game studios a lesson in how an RPG should be made with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. If you are looking for a grounded medieval European experience without flashy fantasy elements or over-the-top mechanics, this is a game that fully earns its price tag from beginning to end.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is a far bolder, more innovative, and higher-quality experience compared to the franchise’s previous entries. Its length strikes a much better balance as well — neither overwhelmingly long like Assassin's Creed Valhalla nor so short that it leaves players wanting more too quickly. Side quests no longer feel like forced level-grinding activities, instead becoming meaningful story pieces that shed light on the pasts of the two main protagonists. The motivations of Yasuke and Naoe are written convincingly, and the way both characters are integrated into the world feels natural and highly effective.

8 / 10.0 - Split Fiction
Mar 9, 2025

Split Fiction very clearly feels like a game that went through an exceptional testing and refinement process in every possible aspect. Considering the sheer amount of content it offers, it is genuinely difficult to understand how Hazelight Studios managed to step back from development and evaluate the experience so effectively from a player’s perspective. Josef Fares makes his player-friendly philosophy felt throughout every moment of Split Fiction — even in the way the game is marketed.

7 / 10.0 - Sodaman
Feb 20, 2025

Sodaman is a genuinely impressive debut title. It shines like a hidden gem within the local game industry. Rather than becoming a carbon copy of Vampire Survivors or the other games it draws inspiration from, it succeeds in creating its own distinct identity and interpretation of the genre.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle aims to faithfully translate the iconic whip-cracking adventurer we know from the films into a playable experience, all while preserving the core identity and spirit of the character.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second chapter of a bold project that aims to reintroduce the legacy of the franchise to modern players. As a sequel, one of its greatest strengths lies in how it builds upon the first game with a visually breathtaking world, a dynamic combat system, and expanded open-world elements that make the experience feel far more ambitious and immersive.

Balatro features a visual design that perfectly complements its entertaining gameplay structure, offering a rich and satisfying overall experience. Metaphor: ReFantazio is a narrative experience that carefully weaves together complex themes and problems with remarkable depth. While the game delivers an epic adventure on the surface, it also challenges players intellectually, constantly encouraging them to think more deeply about the world and ideas it presents.

9.5 / 10.0 - Astro Bot
Dec 1, 2024

It is easily the most fun platforming PlayStation game I have played so far, and at the same time one of the very best games of this generation. What makes it even more impressive is how consistently it maintains that sense of enjoyment without letting the experience lose momentum for even a single moment.

Unfortunately, Dragon Age: The Veilguard also completely fails to satisfy in terms of storytelling. Presenting an extremely cliché narrative without adding anything fresh or distinctive makes the entire experience painfully predictable.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, much like the film series it is based on, builds its tension entirely around silence, delivering an intensely suspenseful gameplay experience. The FPS survival horror title emphasizes slow and careful movement, while cleverly utilizing controller speakers on consoles to pull players into a disturbingly realistic nightmare. It truly shines with its immersive gameplay mechanics.

9 / 10.0 - Silent Hill 2
Oct 11, 2024

With its story, atmosphere, and characters, Silent Hill 2 was a truly unforgettable experience. The fact that it remains so faithful to the original while losing none of the emotions and psychological weight that made it iconic proves exactly why this remake feels so special.
