Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen does not merely correct course. Arriving at the culmination of a post-launch support path that has transformed and noticeably improved the user experience, the DLC turns Capcom's ambitious journey into the work we would have wanted in our hands since day one. Norgan is a magnificent and ruthless land, the new looting system is addictive, and the level of challenge restores dignity and depth to every single fight. If you had put your sword back in its sheath, the time has come to draw it again. But if you are among those who were not convinced by Hideaki Itsuno's title, Kento Kinoshita's touch might change your mind.

7.8 / 10.0 - Neon Abyss 2
Oct 7, 2026

Neon Abyss 2 is the sequel fans of the first game hoped to get, and for much of the time it is even something more. Veewo Games took a formula that worked and enlarged it in every possible direction. And yet, finishing yet another run, you are left with the feeling of a product that did not have the courage to choose. Too many overlapping systems that do not really talk to each other. A randomness that weighs more on the outcome of runs than it should. A readability that shatters just when the game would like to amaze us the most. These are cracks that do not compromise the fun, but separate a good roguelite from an unforgettable one. Those who love the genre, and especially those who devoured the first Neon Abyss, will find dozens of hours of content here. Those who have always had a complicated relationship with roguelites will not find in this sequel a reason to change their mind. The Abyss asks you to accept chaos as part of the pact, and not everyone is willing to sign.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a further piece of the franchise, with a strong identity and a Scottish setting able to stand out. The first-person view, the CRTV and the analog save management are solutions consistent with the atmosphere and with the desire to make horror more intimate and personal. Some uncertainty in the writing, an AI that is not always flawless and a few underwhelming puzzles keep it from reaching excellence, but the overall result remains convincing. For those looking for a survival horror more devoted to tension than action, Townfall stands as a solid, accessible and worthwhile proposal.

8.8 / 10.0 - Gears of War: E-Day
Oct 1, 2026

Gears of War: E-Day is the game fans have been waiting for for many years. A return to the dirty, mean origins of the franchise, which recovers its most visceral identity with far-sighted and absolutely spot-on changes. Marcus and Dom's first adventure is spectacular and adrenaline-fueled, thanks to fun gameplay that respects the legacy of a twenty-year-old series modernized by greater dynamism in movement, cover and shootouts. While we wait to test the multiplayer, an absolutely distinctive feature of the series, The Coalition takes home a clear and evident success. One that some may find a bit too faithful to a game design born of another gaming era. But for everyone else it will be a warm homecoming.

7.5 / 10.0 - Moros Protocol
Sep 30, 2026

Moros Protocol is a shooter that gives its best when it forces you to think in the midst of chaos. Every fight asks you to choose when to shoot, when to rely on the blade and how much stamina to save to get out of the room alive. Pixel Reign builds around this balance an oppressive ship, a recognizable aesthetic and a mystery that makes it natural to try one more time. The permanent progression, however, does not always reward the effort of starting over, and some difficulty spikes turn tension into repetition. It remains an indie experience with character, recommended above all to those who love learning from their mistakes and finding satisfaction in mastering combat more than in the power of upgrades.

8 / 10.0 - Dune: Awakening
Sep 30, 2026

The arrival of Dune: Awakening on console is a maturity test for the survival project dedicated to Arrakis. The introduction of a robust and enjoyable single-player mode lowers the barriers to entry for lovers of pure storytelling, capitalizing on over a year of refinements and expansions. Despite some technical roughness inherited from its sandbox nature and a menu system that is not always nimble with a gamepad, the work manages to capture the essence of Frank Herbert's universe. Funcom's goal was to open the doors of the game to any type of player and from this point of view the goal can be considered perfectly achieved. There remains, however, the feeling that there is still good room for improvement (above all in endgame balancing) for a project with enormous potential.

Legacy of the Dark Knight is at its best when it lets you alternate, unhurriedly, between a main mission full of clever ideas and a spontaneous detour through the streets of Gotham. TT Games does not reinvent every LEGO mechanic and the combat cannot carry the weight of the entire adventure on its own, but it builds a surprisingly cohesive tribute to Batman. On Switch 2, portability is a concrete advantage for those who accept some technical compromises and a less polished city than in the other versions. The Chaos Collection rounds out the picture well, especially for those who want a more frenetic alternative – though shorter in length – to the main campaign.

8.5 / 10.0 - Control Resonant
Sep 28, 2026

Control Resonant achieves the hardest feat for a sequel: justifying its own existence without merely replicating what worked before. Dylan, Manhattan and the Aberrant change the tone and pace of the experience, while Remedy's identity remains recognizable in every impossible building and every unsettling detail. The combat has enough ideas and tools to be exhilarating, but the opaque progression and the repetitiveness of the last part keep it from consistently reaching the heights of the artistic and narrative side. On PS5 Pro it remains a remarkable action adventure, recommended above all to those who want a more dynamic and experimental sequel, not simply another trip through the corridors of the Oldest House.

Sep 24, 2026

Il Grinch 2: Salvando il Natale is a title that fully hits its goal: to offer an accessible, colorful Christmas experience designed to be shared with the family. It does not try to revolutionize the 3D platformer genre or to offer a complex story, but focuses on what works best for its target audience: relaxed exploration, local co-op and fidelity to Dr. Seuss's aesthetic. The presence of a great many levels, four themed worlds and a well-integrated co-op mode makes it a valid option for the holidays, especially for families with small children or for players looking for a light, frustration-free experience. On PS5 Pro, the game shows it can exploit the console's potential, with stable performance and a sharp image, while the sound side completes the experience with a festive, polished soundtrack. The limitations are evident – low difficulty, lack of full voice acting, linear narrative structure – but they are conscious choices in line with Outright Games' philosophy and the expectations of its target audience. Ultimately, Il Grinch 2: Salvando il Natale is a solid and well-made Christmas platformer, perfect for families and for those looking for an unpretentious festive experience, but one that does not manage to stand out beyond its own genre.

7.5 / 10.0 - Grim Trials
Sep 23, 2026

Grim Trials positions itself in the video game market as an enjoyable, frenetic roguelite experience with an undeniably charming rock aesthetic. It has neither the pretension nor the ardor to dethrone the genre's cornerstones, but it shows it knows its limits perfectly and uses them to its advantage, delivering a lean, focused and accessible package. Setting aside a balance that is not quite optimal, a lack of long-term variety and a QTE system in crafting that will make purists frown, Glory Jam's debut work wins you over with a fun combat system, a vibrant art direction and a metal-spirited soundtrack that will put a satisfied grin on your face. A purchase recommended above all to those looking for a frenetic action game to be consumed in short, satisfying sessions.

7 / 10.0 - SiN Reloaded
Sep 23, 2026

SiN: Reloaded is a successful preservation effort: it brings back to life an FPS that was ambitious and innovative for its time, keeping its spirit intact and improving its usability without distorting it. The game shines for its variety of mechanics, articulated level design and a strong identity within the boomer shooter landscape, but pays the price of age in areas such as artificial intelligence, animations and some narrative and control aspects. For those who knew and loved the original, this edition is a tasty opportunity to revisit Freeport City with more modern eyes; for new players, it can be an interesting exercise in video game archaeology, provided they accept evident compromises compared with contemporary standards. Overall, SiN: Reloaded positions itself as a good remaster of a niche classic: it does not revolutionize anything, but it does its duty with competence and respect.

Garfield - Escape from Monday marks the return of the orange cat to the world of 3D platformers with a pleasant, light title. The laziest feline in the world finds himself exploring a dreamlike world full of enemies, in a culinary nightmare where vegetables take over. A simple production, whose winning cards are its genuineness and its love for the character created by Jim Davis. It will not be the platformer of the year or a challenge for the most experienced players, let us be clear. Still, OSome Studio shows once again an excellent feeling for famous franchises in search of video game authors.

7.5 / 10.0 - Rivage
Sep 22, 2026

Rivage stands out in the landscape of sci-fi puzzle adventures for its ability to turn the time loop into an investigative tool instead of a simple punishment mechanic. The choice to tie the reset to the station's energy, together with the K9 system that preserves solutions, creates a unique pace of play: every cycle is an opportunity to push a little further, with the concrete feeling of progressing not only through space, but in understanding the story and the mechanisms of A.R.E.S. The narrative side – though without epic ambitions – works thanks to a patient construction of the mystery and a series of clues distributed coherently throughout the environment. The puzzles, despite some roughness in the handling of controls and the linearity of progression, offer a mechanical density that is rare for the genre, with puzzles that require observation, deduction and a good deal of planning. Overall, Rivage is a title made for those who love getting lost in richly detailed environments, where every object can hide a clue and every system can become part of a bigger puzzle. It does not try to amaze with spectacular effects or a highly emotional plot, but builds a solid and coherent experience, where satisfaction comes from understanding, step by step, the rules of a broken world and finding a way to make it work, at least enough to discover the truth.

Sep 21, 2026

Overall, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is a side-scrolling brawler with an interesting concept and strong appeal for fans of the series, but held back by unrefined combat, a repetitive structure and a short duration. It works as an occasional experience and as a pixel-art tribute to AMC's universe, but it does not manage to establish itself as a reference title in its genre.

Sep 21, 2026

Qliphah in Providence's Shadow is one of those complex productions that are hard to analyze and even harder to describe. Unite Plus and Arc System Works deliver a curious mix of an RPG with a visual novel narrative structure and a rhythm game in which tactical planning takes absolute precedence over impulsiveness. The originality of the combat system, however, is offset by a narrative and structural approach that is tendentially far too repetitive. The Italian translation is a big point in favor of a title whose most fascinating qualities are its ideas and its style. If you accept the compromise of the inevitable immaturity of an experimental production, it could be among the most peculiar offerings of the 2026 video game landscape.

7.5 / 10.0 - MONOWAVE
Sep 16, 2026

MONOWAVE is a convincing debut for Studio BBB. The game takes a potentially abstract theme, that of emotions, and translates it into concrete rules: you change abilities, observe the spirits' reactions, modify the environment and look for solutions through a combination of movement and understanding. Its strength lies not in quantity, but in coherence. Art direction, narrative structure, mechanics and soundtrack work in the same direction, building an accessible, delicate adventure able to surprise with some puzzles that are more demanding than the graphic look would suggest. At the same time, the project still shows the limits of a debut work: the level of polish of the platforming is not uniform, some obstacles communicate their intentions poorly, and the story could have made better use of the potential of the four emotions. With a length of about six to eight hours, MONOWAVE is recommended above all to those looking for a compact, original indie experience that also suits local co-op. It is not the new reference point of the genre, but it is a game with a voice of its own, able to deliver a positive message without turning it into a lesson.

7.6 / 10.0 - BioEden
Sep 16, 2026

BioEden is a work that caresses the spirit and calms the heartbeat, then tiptoes away without, sadly, leaving an indelible mark. Broken Arms Games has put together a solid management game, appealing in its solarpunk aesthetic and remarkably accessible, able to deliver several hours of absolute serenity to anyone looking for an interactive experience free from performance anxiety. However, the rigidity of its mechanics and the marked repetitiveness of the gameplay formula risk boring the more demanding palates and veterans of 4X simulators too early. If you are looking for a cozy refuge in which to watch life bloom again one piece at a time, you will find in this title an excellent travel companion. If instead you demand systemic depth and complex strategic implications, the mission entrusted to the Cosmic Collective may prove far too predictable.

Hell Rising confirms itself as a polarizing and visceral experience, a ruthless testing ground that gives no one a discount and redefines the boundaries between suffering and glory in the Nioh 3 universe. The work done by Team Ninja is a bold bet: on one hand, the combat system is further layered with brand-new tactical freshness. On the other, the impact with the corrupt Edo of the Keian era exposes the most abrasive and uncompromising nature of the production, where balance fades into an ethereal concept. If you loved the original epic and crave a worthy challenge even at the cost of a difficulty tuned upward, the expansion will give you unique peaks of adrenaline. Otherwise, the hell of Edo will end up swallowing you with no escape.

8.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K27
Sep 14, 2026

NBA 2K27 is an excellent basketball game and a simulation that the competition still can hardly match. Visual Concepts understood that the main problem of the last few installments was not a lack of content, but balance on the court. Smarter defense, more believable collisions and a less permissive offense make every possession more meaningful. The new features in the modes are numerous and, in some cases, truly interesting. MyNBA Legacy offers an original perspective on franchise management, MyCAREER's ERA is a precious tribute to the history of the league and Casual Corner is a good entry point for new players. The City, instead, continues to be huge but scattered, while MyTEAM remains penalized by an aggressive economic structure. The problem is that many choices still seem designed to extend playing time and encourage spending. The game can be enjoyed without buying VC, but the path is slower and more laborious. The series also continues to tie offline career too closely to online progression, imposing compromises on those who would simply like to play a season with their own athlete. On PS5 Pro NBA 2K27 offers solid performance, a clean image and a high-level audiovisual side, but without a real generational leap. It is a refined version of a now well-tested formula, not a new beginning. Ultimately: NBA 2K27 is the most balanced chapter of recent years and one of the best entry points to the series. It does not solve all structural problems, but it decisively improves the heart of the basketball experience. Defense matters again, offense requires more intelligence and the enormous number of modes ensures hundreds of hours of play. If Visual Concepts managed to reduce the weight of microtransactions and make progression more readable, the series could make the definitive leap in quality.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a brave debut. Rebel Wolves shows it knows the grammar of narrative role-playing games very well, but does not merely rehash the model of The Witcher. The thirty-day system, Coen's dual nature and the need to live with missed quests and irreversible consequences give the adventure a recognizable personality. Not all components work at the same level. The combat needed greater precision, the open world could have made better use of the verticality of vampiric powers, and the technical performance needs further work. However, when the game puts its characters, its choices and its quests in the foreground, it manages to be intense, adult and surprisingly engaging. It is a role-playing game that gives its best when the player stops looking for the perfect playthrough and accepts missing something. Saving one person may mean giving up another quest; using vampiric power may simplify a fight but change your relationship with the world; chasing one goal may mean arriving too late for everything else. In this imperfection lies its most successful idea. Ultimately: it is a solid and ambitious narrative adventure, recommended above all to those looking for a role-playing game rich in atmosphere, choices and consequences. It is not without flaws, but it has enough character to represent one of the most interesting surprises in the contemporary action-RPG landscape.
