God is a Geek's Reviews

Sep 18, 2017

In a big year for fighting games, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite squares up to its rivals confidently. With a healthy amount of content, it makes up for the lacklustre launch of Street Fighter V, despite not being quite as good.

Sep 18, 2017

Pokken is a fighting game that while decent could do with understanding that complexity doesn't necessarily equal depth.

7.5 / 10.0 - NHL 18
Sep 18, 2017

It's still a great hockey game, and NHL Threes is a great addition, but beyond that it's very much the same game as last year's.

Jailhouse Block is an action packed episode with some great humour and exciting set-pieces.

8 / 10.0 - Project CARS 2
Sep 18, 2017

AI issues aside, Slightly Mad Studios has put together an astoundingly deep racing simulator with an enormous amount of content.

6.5 / 10.0 - Maize
Sep 17, 2017

Maize is an amusing title, it's puzzles don't really require any critical thinking and it is overly linear but it kind of works as a curio with some genuinely funny jokes dotted throughout.

4 / 10.0 - Drive Girls
Sep 17, 2017

Drive Girls is a disappointing game in almost every aspect with only a few redeeming factors.

Sep 17, 2017

Lichtspeer: Double Speer Edition is fun for a bit but gets tiring quick and only really enjoyable as a party experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - NeuroVoider
Sep 13, 2017

Bringing NeuroVoider to the Switch was a real no-brainer for Flying Oak, it's a good slice of rogue-like action for this terrific machine.

Sep 13, 2017

It's incredibly ambitious, but without spending hours upon hours building a safe haven to protect you from the brutality of PvP, the single player feels a bit redundant without anyone to play with.

Sep 13, 2017

A worthy conclusion and a fantastic follow up to Mask of Deception that is a must play for visual novel fans on Vita.

Sep 12, 2017

Planet of the Eyes is a competent puzzle platformer, short enough to be played in one sitting, but with a sterile and empty world it fails ultimately to leave any lasting impression.

9 / 10.0 - Destiny 2
Sep 12, 2017

Big, bright, bold, and bursting with content and heart.

Sep 12, 2017

An excellent reimagining of an age old title, it's great to see Samus back after such a long hiatus, please don't go away for so long again.

7 / 10.0 - Tooth and Tail
Sep 12, 2017

Its humour and quick mission times make it an interesting prospect in a genre filled with far-too-serious stories and long, drawn-out missions; but the constantly babysitting your units drags it back from being anything truly special.

Sep 11, 2017

PES 2018 is the silkiest and smoothest looking football game I've ever played, with textures and player animation integrated perfectly. The pitches are gorgeous – as are the stadiums, and the rate at which the game moves, and blends player reactions after a shot or goal celebration is seamless.

Sep 10, 2017

It may be different to the other games in the MH series, but Stories is a lot of fun, and the JRPG mechanics are enjoyable, providing lots of different scenarios in its combat.

Sep 10, 2017

This is very much the Wii U version with a few bells and whistles, but it's still one of the best non-Mario platformers of the last ten years, and that's definitely worth shouting about.

8 / 10.0 - Tokyo Dark
Sep 6, 2017

Tokyo Dark blends visual novel with point and click to create a terrifically dark story, filled with mystery. With eleven endings and so many choices to make, it goes well beyond the four hours of that first playthrough.

8.5 / 10.0 - Knack 2
Sep 5, 2017

If you're looking for a great platformer to play on your own or with friends, this is the one for you. It's fun and it looks gorgeous, filled with combat that provides lots of options to defeat the goblins and the robots.
