9.5 / 10.0 - Against The Storm
Dec 6, 2023

Against the Storm is an engrossing and fun game. Its focus is on moment-to-moment settlement management but with a ton of gameplay ideas that make each new expedition feel unique. I love the unpredictable nature of the glades as well as the many ways to interact with the Queen’s requests and the dangerous ruins.

9.5 / 10.0 - Lil Guardsman
Jan 24, 2024

Lil' Guardsman is a fun game that expertly combines story and gameplay. It’s built around a loveable central character who finds herself at the core of an interesting although familiar narrative. The deduction mechanics require players to pay attention, but the game also smartly gives them a rewind ability if they want to retcon some choices.

9.2 / 10.0 - GRIP: Combat Racing
Nov 10, 2018

GRIP: Combat Racing promises to fall into the first category, bringing justice to an old series of games that have become cult classics themselves. The graphics and physics engine aren't just there just to give the series a facelift, they take what the game advertised as its strong point, speed and death-defying acrobatics and driving, and cranked it up to eleven!

9 / 10.0 - Bloodborne
Mar 29, 2015

Bloodborne is truly a remarkable game, more appealing than its predecessors, more cohesive, and more satisfying from a mechanical point of view. It also has a compelling atmosphere and a captivating world to explore, full of beautiful vistas and horrific creatures to battle, as well as an ample background to slowly discover.

9 / 10.0 - Dying Light
Jan 27, 2015

Dying Light is everything you wanted from Dead Island. Only instead of stepping into the shoes of a Mr. T and Ice T crossover, you're a deadly spy or soldier, and everything is bigger and better.

9 / 10.0 - Far Cry 4
Nov 16, 2014

Far Cry 4 is a stunning iteration in the series that manages to bring forth great gameplay, superb visuals, and a pretty good story with a fabulous villain. While the competitive multiplayer may not feel all that great and there are some lackluster story missions, overall you'll have a great time with the first-person shooter.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare offers a much more innovative take on the first-person shooter series than previous installments, but it's still shackled to the core recipe of forcing players to follow allies through set piece moments in the story campaign. The multiplayer offers a higher degree of innovation and it should certainly entertain quite a lot of fans who are open to trying the new mechanics.

9 / 10.0 - Alien: Isolation
Oct 20, 2014

To sum it up in a handful of words, the entire game is about an unfair, unwinnable boss fight that you're doing your best to avoid. It's as difficult and frustrating as an Alien game should be. It's not a ride in the park and you're not an action hero. You will die a lot and you'll like it, because almost every time, it will be due to a mistake you made.

9 / 10.0 - FIFA 15
Sep 23, 2014

FIFA 15 feels like it introduces less innovative elements than last year's installment, but the development team at EA Sports knows what its audience wants and manages to improve the core gameplay and the presentation in interesting ways.

Madden NFL 15 is a great game for fans of the sport it is depicting and there's no reason for a player who picked up last year's version of the title to skip on the one that is now arriving in stores.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a truly impressive experience that manages to focus on the realities of World War 1 without becoming a dull or upsetting experience. It adds just enough cheerful moments to stay upbeat and you're certainly going to care and fall in love with the main characters, especially the small dog.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a great reimagining of the series, delivering a fun experience to shooter fans, while bringing a good story and some solid mechanics that feel fresh but still know the roots of the franchise. The stealth could have used a bit of improvement, but Wolfenstein is still a shooter at its heart and works very well in a delightful old-school way.

9 / 10.0 - Trials Fusion
Apr 16, 2014

Trials Fusion is a great new entry into the franchise and marks a proper arrival of the series onto the new consoles. Its visuals are sharp, its gameplay is better than ever, and its few downsides don't prevent it from once again getting players addicted to its physics-based racing. The loading times are a bit long and navigating the interface isn't that great, but it's still worth it.

9 / 10.0 - Thief
Feb 24, 2014

Thief is a great return for the classic series. Thanks to its open-ended missions and the big amount of customization options, not to mention the great visuals, it can delight fans old and new alike. While it has a few problems with platforming and some erratic enemy AI, it still manages to deliver a memorable stealth experience.

The Witcher 3 is a fitting end for the saga from CD Projekt Red. It's also the most accessible title in the series and manages to delight through most of its mechanics, especially the huge open world. While the main storyline doesn't exactly live up to expectations and it has quite a few smaller annoyances, it's still a blast to play and should offer hundreds of hours of enjoyment to any RPG fan.
