8.5 / 10.0 - Sunset Overdrive
Oct 27, 2014

Sunset Overdrive's stylistic gameplay and juvenile attitude doesn't make it a title for everyone. It is, however, an incredibly fun, visually beautiful open-world title that exhibits the best parts of what a sandbox game should be. Tight, stylish movement, engrossing combat and chaotic online fun makes Sunset Overdrive a no brainer for any Xbox One owner.

While the core game is excellent, it might be extremely difficult for new players. There are plenty of options for replay, but the game might not have the same replay value as previous entries in the franchise. A solid title that will make fans of the Civilization franchise extremely happy, and might even attract some new players - if they can survive the initial challenge.

7 / 10.0 - FIFA 15
Oct 17, 2014

There is nothing wrong with FIFA 15 and it plays great, but so did FIFA 14 and for the first time in a long time I cannot find a reason to upgrade. If you have FIFA 14 then just stick with it, you're not missing out on anything.

8 / 10.0 - Alien: Isolation
Oct 14, 2014

Unflinchingly tense and gruelling, Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation is a better sequel to Ridley Scott's original movie than the film that followed it. Dripping with as much atmosphere and attention to detail as it is with acidic Xenomorph spittle, it's hardly let down by its weak narrative and unnecessary padding.

9 / 10.0 - Bayonetta 2
Oct 13, 2014

Bayonetta 2 is something new blended with something familiar, improved in every way possible. Few other games can top it for sheer audacity and ballsiness, and if this is the last time we'll ever see the leggy witch, then she's going out with one hell of a bang.

Flashy, brutal and deeper than you'd expect. Killer Instinct is back baby.

7.5 / 10.0 - Driveclub
Oct 8, 2014

If anything, one could describe DriveClub as inconsistent. Issues with required connectivity, sub-par A.I, a fairly shallow career mode and a lack of depth where the cars are concerned hold DriveClub back from being the sort of big-hit exclusive title that the PlayStation 4 will be remembered for in future. However, some great ideas and great handling cars keep the racing and challenges surrounding your friends interesting and fun… as long as you stay connected to the servers.

8.5 / 10.0 - Metro Redux
Oct 7, 2014

Metro Redux sets the bar high for what a HD remaster should be – not only a visual upgrade, but a gameplay touch up as well. Metro 2033 benefits the most from this, and owners of Last Light will have a tough time finding many improvements. Still, if you're yet to visit the bleak world of the Moscow underground, there hasn't been a better time.

What's mind blowing is that Nintendo have somehow put Super Smash Bros into pockets without cutting corners. The game has a wealth of content to keep players busy for many, many hours. Fans will be well pleased and newcomers will be set down the path to Smash Bros addiction.

While not perfect, Shadow of Mordor surpasses expectations - it's fun, engaging and truly impressive. The Nemesis System is a stroke of genius and sets this game apart from its competitors. A serious contender for Game of the Year.

D4 is a darkly weird game, and one that boasts a fair amount of polish as it experiments with genres and controls. It's not for everyone, but the solid Kinect input and trademark Japanese madness make for one deep dive that you won't soon forget.

7.5 / 10.0 - Hyrule Warriors
Sep 30, 2014

At the end of the day, Hyrule Warriors is at its core a Dynasty Warriors game, but it injects enough of that Legend of Zelda pizzazz to feel fresh and fun in its own right. This game won't convert you into Dynasty Warriors fan and it has its fair share of problems, but after all is said and done I can say this; Hyrule Warriors is fun, and I guess sometimes that's all that matters.

8.9 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 2
Sep 25, 2014

The first Horizon was hailed as one of the best racing titles on the Xbox 360, and its sequel just raises the bar. As an arcade or simulation racer, there's not that much that Forza Horizon 2 does wrong. This shouldn't even be a question for racing fanatics, and I'll easily recommend it to every other Xbox owner out there.

7.5 / 10.0 - Destiny
Sep 15, 2014

It's a confused game that doesn't quite know what it wants to be; is it an MMO, a pure shooter, or a sprawling space epic? It tries to be all of them and misses the mark on most. As much fun as it can be - especially when played with friends - Destiny ultimately crumbles under its own ambition.

7.9 / 10.0 - The Sims 4

Ignore the starter pack effect, jump into the expanded social circles of The Sims 4, share your worlds and you'll discover for the most part that this game is a true sequel through and through.

8.5 / 10.0 - FIFA 14
Sep 9, 2014

We've already reviewed the main game and as such the game gets the same score. FIFA 14 on the Xbox One is great but there is absolutely no reason to buy it so close to the FIFA 15 release. Doesn't make it a bad game though.

4.5 / 10.0 - Sacred 3
Sep 9, 2014

Sacred 3 is a complete let down for fans of the franchise, departing from a formula that has somewhat worked in the past in the hope of attracting a wider audience. Instead of building on features, and borrowing some from games that pull off the action RPG genera to a tee, Sacred 3 is disjointed, boring and just downright bad.

Despite some excellent moments, Risen 3 reaches too far and falls short. Glitchy and clunky design will undermine even the most ardent RPG fans hopes of enjoying this game. You're better off waiting for the games you actually want to play.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ryse: Son of Rome
Sep 8, 2014

Ryse is a bit of a marmite game, if you are looking for a great gaming experience that takes forever to perfect then Ryse is not for you. If you are interested in a Roman interactive movie with a solid story line then I'd say give it a shot.

6 / 10.0 - Pure Pool
Sep 3, 2014

While Pure Pool is a great pool simulator, the problems I had left me feeling snookered. If those issues could be ironed out, and multiplayer fixed with a proper matchmaking tool, it would honestly be a solid title to spend6.0 some time with. For now though, I've just resorted to keeping it in windowed mode, taking my shots now and then between the other games I play.
