Grand Ages: Medieval is both deep and shallow at the same time, offering a detailed and interesting city development and trading system but letting itself down with shallow diplomacy and military options. A game where everything has been done before and, for the most part, better, it's a good time passer on the PC though something quite fresh and unique for the PS4.
If you want more Warriors or haven't experienced Warriors yet, then I truly recommend this. But if you've played one of the many Warriors games recently, then maybe just give it a miss.
Final Fantasy V is still an excellent RPG for anyone who enjoys a good, well thought out story and a classic adventure. It truly embodies superior RPG craftsmanship and rivals many modern RPG's in content and enjoyability. Most importantly? It's fun.
This a great break away from for the Lego series with some clever tricks to keep the old mechanics fresh and lovely design. Seeing your favourite shows and games Legoified never gets old, and having them collide is as funny as you'd hope.
An absolutely brilliant space sim that has no equal on the Xbox One. Despite the relative lack of "depth" and other small issues, Elite: Dangerous still manages to impress with a very dynamic, unique and incredible experience. For space sim fans, this will no doubt become a staple in this genre on console.
Even as a budget title the game would struggle to be worth it, but at a full retail price and as an extension of one of the PC's longest running franchises, it's in a sorry state. Whatever the reason may be, this game is little more than a failure in my eyes.
With Tearaway Unfolded, Media Molecule and Tarsier Studios deliver an outstanding and gorgeous looking game. In almost every aspect, Unfolded is the evolved version of the original Vita game. The revamped controls and the collaboration between the game and the player, will amaze every self-respecting PS4 owner. I highly recommend getting this wonderful title, Vita players who played the original included.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a gameplay triumph, that's for sure. Kojima managed to marry the stealth/action elements of MGS with the open world setting in a way that no one could have predicted. While not perfect, this is a masterpiece that everyone should enjoy; let's just hope it's not the last we'll see of Snake.
Wasteland 2 Director's Cut is, at the minute, somewhat of a disappointment for consoles. The wonder and sense of exploration it was attempting is severely diminished because the controls, and the bugs make it hard to enjoy. Hopefully this can be fixed in future releases, but at the time of writing, Wasteland 2 is just shy of being really worth playing.
Cross of the Dutchman is a short game, it does have a bit of padding in there, but the unusual setting and story behind it, with a reasonably entertaining combat system make it worth trying out. Cheap, cheerful and entertaining - it's worth at least having a look at it.
FIFA 16 reacted extremely well to the increasing challenge posed by Konami with PES. This year's edition fixes all the shortcomings of FIFA 15 while introducing more features and authenticity to the game; in short, FIFA 16 is still the king of football games, at least for another year.
With a vast world with a huge amount to do, set in a space western and an outstanding soundtrack to accompany it, Rebel Galaxy has a simple but engaging and visually spectacular combat system. Rebel Galaxy has more than enough to keep you engaged, though best played in small doses.
Honestly, Tri Force Heroes is worthwhile even if you don't have any friends (although they definitely help.) A great Zelda adventure just missing the epic storyline.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection might not be that appealing for those who played the Uncharted trilogy on PlayStation 3, but for everyone else it's simply a must buy, particularly if you plan to get Uncharted 4 as well next year.
Although some aspects have aged, this Ultimate Edition is solid. The Coalition has done an amazing job, rebuilding one of the best shooters ever made. The game looks incredible, and the framerate upgrade offers a perfectly smooth experience. For $ 40.00, you can't really go wrong with this one.
Fans of action adventure games will love this title. Even if you've never heard of, thought about, or enjoyed Transformers in the past, its simple, perfectly balanced mechanics and jaw dropping combat will keep you coming back for more. That's not to mention actual fans of the Transformers franchise, who should be really excited for this game.
Predictable moments blended with some absolutely fantastic music and gameplay creates one of the best JRPGs of the year, if not the best. Still, it doesn't reach the heights of past Tales games.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate is an amazing action/adventure. It has evolved past its humble crusading beginning, and entered the industrial age of looming cities, intriguing missions and solid combat. While it still isn't the most challenging game, it proves to be warm, friendly and massively engrossing.
A great if flawed game that presents a lot of potential that might have been wasted in this first iteration of a fantastic idea. If this is the direction Pencil Test Studios is going, then I want to see more. It's fun, though short, and a bit buggy. But overall it's a great idea to pursue.
I want to enjoy this game, I really do, but my God is it ever tedious. More than once it seriously wore on my nerves, simply due to how repetitive it can be. I'm sure the game will find fans, but I won't be one of them.
