GoldenBullet (GoldenBullet)
8 / 10.0 - West Hunt
Mar 9, 2024

With fun party play, strategic depth, and the low price, West Hunt offers a very entertaining experience that anyone can just pick up and play. The graphics could be polished a little more but the underlying gameplay lead to intense and sometimes chaotic sessions. Its a very simple gameplay loop but sometimes, you don't need to complicate the formula to make a fun game.

7 / 10.0 - The Thaumaturge
Mar 4, 2024

With an original premise and diverging paths based on in-game choices, The Thaumaturge delivers a fairly engaging RPG whose narrative execution would have benefitted from further improvements.

Mario vs Donkey Kong is a fantastic game even today, and anyone who has never played this sort of escape room hijinx before should definitely take a look, because it's devilishly addictive!

Deamonhunters had some big shoes to fill given how the original Chaos Gate was not just a fond memory, but also a formative game from my childhood. Did it make the cut? Yes, it's precisely what I expected it to be, and I'm happy that it finally made its way to consoles. Some minor camera-related gripes aside, the game looks, sounds and plays great. Many-a-demons were slain in the last few days and I can now rest easy knowing that the galaxy is a little bit safer... at least until the DLC hits console storefronts. For the Emperor!

Gameplay and translation issues aside, there is a great idea here that is well presented overall, if a little confusing in its execution. Even if it's difficult to enjoy as a detective experience, the core elements that make up Chronique des Silencieux have merit and could easily be improved in patches, updates and possibly sequels.

Aspyr really pulled through in making a superb package for new explorers and old adventurers to dig into, but I still have no clue why there is no platinum trophies on the PS5 edition?!

A nice little bunch of games with some admirable QOL features that make it easier for this generation of gamers to appreciate the good old days. Despite the omission of any gallery, music, extras etc its still fantastic to see pioneering franchises available to all in 2024.

6.3 / 10.0 - War Hospital
Jan 21, 2024

War Hospital is not for everyone, but it does offer an intriguing insight into 1918's war support operations. The game's bleak and unforgiving nature is compounded by a huge plethora of systems and databases that become monotonous and cyclic.

Despite having an immersive VR environment and, on paper, an original premise and mechanic, Ziggy's Cosmic Adventures performs a crash landing in practice by failing to properly balance its hybrid gameplay which inevitably becomes overwhelming and frustrating.

5.8 / 10.0 - Sovereign Syndicate

While it packs an original setting and gameplay twist, Sovereign Syndicate would have benefitted from a narrower scope and improved execution.

After 11 years Nintendo return with what might just be a series high for Super Mario Bros. A wonderfully creative adventure filled with small details to enjoy throughout, it's a game I can wholeheartedly recommend picking up for any fan of Mario or just a good 2D platforming experience. You won't be disappointed.

I went into Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master really ready to enjoy all the work that goes into making a dungeon great. Unfortunately there just wasn't all that much to do. Between an underbaked tavern, limited dungeon management, and an unbalanced staffing system, it feels like a game that just needed more time to decide what it wanted to be. If it does get updated down the line it may be worth revisiting. As it is now though, I can't say I feel it worth the price of admission.

5.2 / 10.0 - Shuyan Saga
Dec 14, 2023

I would have loved to score this game far higher, but the delicate balance of storytelling and gameplay is just not there. The storytelling and artwork are what massively carry the points I've scored for this title because in my opinion far more effort needed to be put into making compellingly fleshed-out beat-em-up sections as this game should have been absolutely incredible.

I'm quite disappointed by Gangs of Sherwood, as despite looking and sounding great on paper, the presentation is low-end, the voice acting is alarming, and the environments are rudimentary.

8.2 / 10.0 - Robocop: Rogue City
Nov 2, 2023

I really like this game, but it could be so much better with a little more polish. I have no doubt that RoboCop fans will have an absolute blast with this game, and Teyon has really excelled in bringing fresh but fitting content to Old Detroit for us to stomp and blast through.

Disgaea 7 marks a definitive return to form for the series after the slump of its predecessor. This is a great game for those with a taste for Disgaea, even if those new to the series likely find more value in older titles.
