A solid console port for an absolute masterclass in how to remake a classic.
This all probably sounds a lot like Two Point at this point, and while I don't think it's entirely fair to say that Galacticare is just Two Point Hospital in space, it isn't that far from the truth. I don't think that's a bad thing either.
A creative merge of survival simulation, turn-based combat and tactical RPG.
Ultimately, if you’re a fan of the management simulation aspects of Wartales or like the mercantile lifestyle path especially, the tavern management gameplay systems that this expansion introduces may be for you. Highly recommended.
Masters of Light is definitely entertaining and uses its VR functions in creative ways. Fast thinking on your toes gameplay and combat encounters with continuously moving enemies makes you use your powers in a calculated and deliberate fashion. You never feel like you are in danger with unimposing opponents, but that mixed with the fun gameplay make it that much easier to dive back into the light if you ever get a game over. The frail story leaves you unsatisfied and jittery controls can cause some immediate issues with how well you are performing in a level, but the feedback of the tacit sounds and flow of the music keeps you moving and grooving throughout your galaxy hopping adventure. Given the subject manner, I wish Masters of Light was able to deliver another layer of tenacity. Even so, Masters of Light displays an exciting way to enter the VR space by giving you fun to use light powers that let you liberate the stars from the clutches of darkness.
A great one day player for the busy gamer. A story that is captivating and enthralling with a unique ending.
If you're undecided, go out and check the demo out for Stellar Blade but if you're seeking a challenging yet rewarding third person action game, this title hits the mark and more than likely Game of the Year!
A fantastic combination of horror, combat and puzzle solving elements, Withering Rooms is one nightmare that you may not wish to wake from!
The Developers definitely succeed at creating a fun game for younger gamers, especially if they are fans of PJ Masks because everything is there. Additionally the control mechanics are well mapped on the Xbox Series controller that immediately had our younger player picking up the controller and start playing. In the end, PJ Masks Power Heroes Mighty Alliance is a sturdy platformer with a few different gaming genres thrown into the 2D platformer mix that offers gameplay targetted for kids, unlike some crash grabs out there.
Alan Wake II is the reincarnation of art in video games.
Minishoot' Adventures is a standout that combines the best elements of two beloved genres into a cohesive and engaging experience. With its dynamic gameplay, stunning visuals, and wealth of content, it's no surprise that Minishoot' has the potential to be one of the top games of the year in 2024. Whether you're a fan of Bullet Hell shooters, The Legend of Zelda, or simply enjoy well-crafted games, Minishoot' Adventures is a must-play experience that shouldn't be missed.
Children of the Sun is a dark, wonderfully innovative take on the now-cliched outpost clearing of many open-world games. It's incredibly satisfying when a plan all comes together and cultist after cultist falls to a perfectly executed series of meticulously aimed shots.
In the hustle and bustle of the modern world, House Flipper 2 teaches us to find solace in the mundane. Familiar and accessible, it's as cosy as the renovated houses of its namesake, Neat freaks and creative types both can find a little peace in this calm and satisfying simulator, be it in helping someone with the aftermath of a raccoon breaking into their bungalow, breathing new life into an unloved beachfront holiday home, or just putting up a table or two. And while it's a little rough around the edges in places, the developers make their roadmap transparent, involving their players every step of the way. I'd suggest trying this one out even if you think you may not enjoy it – much as I was, you may end up surprised.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a great, new entry into the stealth action genre. At around 6 hours to complete the story it doesn't outstay its welcome. I didn't get anywhere near all of the collectibles or upgrades on my initial run-through, and there are three endings to unlock, so there's plenty of replay value.
Frontier brings their most in-depth building sim to consoles, wart(hog)s and all.
Ultimately, Dragon's Dogma 2 is an odd combination between Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Tears of the Kingdom that scratches a very unique itch. It might not be for everyone, but it's certainly for someone, and it'll be exciting to see what kind of DLC Capcom have planned for it.
Princess Peach Showtime is a nice break away from our favourite plumber and his brother and while I enjoyed this as an older gamer, it definitely does have a more younger gamer appeal. Even so, it's quite a clever premise and if you're looking for something a little different, check out the demo via the Nintendo store and if you like it, Princess Peach Showtime might be the fun you're looking for.
A perfect introduction to the stealth horror genre for younger gamers and a great time for those who already love it.
Overall, though not without its flaws, Unicorn Overlord is a fantastic tactical RPG that has a highly rewarding and satisfying gameplay loop.
Pacific Drive is a strange and unique survival experience that should receive plaudits for pushing the boat out creatively, and inserting you into an unnerving climate with a battered old whale of a hooptie to tour about in. Where Pacific Drive can falter is that it proceeds to force you into performing manual busywork with little payoff, but this is offset by the inherent mystery surrounding it all. As long as you don't mind refurbishing a rickety four-wheeler, collecting resources, and becoming prey to all the threats you'll find in the Olympic Peninsula, then you might just be in for a treat, but everyone else might want to tear themselves away to do the frustrating repetition of it all. But go on, give this old jalopy a go.
