A unique Metroidvania with a charming hand drawn art style and a fun body snatching mechanic.
Ultimately, I didn't enjoy my time with Monster Energy Supercross 25, which is a shame because I've had a lot of fun with past games in the series and Supercross games in general over the years. There's a lot here in terms of content, with a robust career mode and track editor, and plenty of things to unlock along the way. However, I just didn't get on with the actual riding experience.
Many Nights a Whisper is a unique and emotionally resonant game that explores themes of pressure, expectation and destiny. With its meditative gameplay, philosophical storytelling, and stunning atmosphere, it promises to be a memorable experience for players who appreciate thoughtful, narrative-driven games. If you're looking for something different, reflective and beautifully crafted, this is one to keep an eye on but just be warned, it does become intense, particularly with that final shot.
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves make a nice albeit non-triumphant return to the fighting game arena. Full crossplay compatibility and robust online modes are best of breed.
Days Gone Remastered feels like a complete game that irons out many of the aesthetic kinks, while adding more meat in the process. Nobody should feel dissatisfied with the remastering job done here, especially seeing as you now get more for your money.
A remaster can only make a 20-year old game so modern without becoming a remake. Oblivion Remastered makes the old game beautiful, far less clunky, but it's still the old game at its core.
A no nonsense survival game about finding a new home for Humanity. It's a daunting task, with life threatening twists and turns around every corner. But the fate of humanity rests on your shoulders!
Rusty Rabbit isn't a groundbreaking Metroidvania, nor is it trying to be. It's a game that stacks tons of mechanics and options on top of each other, some of which you'll barely need, but through it all, it remains charming, engaging, and highly playable. If you're looking for a deeply customizable experience or open-ended exploration, you might leave Smokestack Mountain feeling a little short-changed. But if you're chasing that pure, childlike joy of digging into the unknown, upgrading your ride, and uncovering hidden stories in a world that oozes atmosphere, Rusty Rabbit is a journey worth taking.
Shadow of the Damned: Hella Remastered keeps the original's charm but fails as a proper PC remaster due to minimal effort and outdated design.
Overall, Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy is a beautifully crafted remake that honors the original while introducing enough improvements to appeal to a modern audience. I immediately fell in love with this new take and was mesmerized by its tale, themes, and emotional journey. It's a game that asks for patience, attention, and reflection. It may not be for everyone, especially those looking for something fast-paced or action-heavy, but for those who appreciate a well-told, atmospheric expedition with a sense of quiet wonder, Amerzone delivers an experience that's both timeless and deeply resonant.
Tiny Garden is a relaxing puzzle game that perfectly encapsulates the phrase 'Easy to learn, hard to master'. A wonderful combination of farming sim, puzzle game, and light life sim. It's very easy to lose hours planning out the perfect layout to get maximum yield on a particular crop that's necessary to advance.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure may be one for the fans, however it is also quite welcoming to newbies or those seeking a fun life simulator in building this engaging experience from start to finish. It also successfully captures the timeless charm of Sanrio while integrating modern mechanics that ensure its appeal to a wide range of players. From its enchanting story to its engaging gameplay, every element of the game has been well incorporated that more importantly, plays great on the Switch.
PlayStation 5 owners can finally rejoice... Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is here and yes, it's beautiful!
A Hades clone with a lot of spunk and gritty action to satisfy the cravings of anarchy!
In conclusion, The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a triumph. Croteam has successfully revitalized a beloved classic, delivering a visually stunning and intellectually stimulating experience. Whether you're a newcomer to the series or a seasoned veteran, "Reawakened" offers a compelling and unforgettable journey into the depths of philosophical puzzle-solving. The combination of its excellent puzzle design, it's deep narrative or it's graphical updates, make this a must play game for fans of the puzzle genre.
In Conclusion Inayah: Life after Gods has all the makings of a great Metroidvania game, there are definitely areas where the game could be improved and frightened up. The UI could be a lot less clunky to use and Inayah could do with an off switch for her quips; But overall the artstyle and controls make this game well worth playing and I would be keen to try any other games that this studio produces.
Finding Frankie is a breath of fresh air in the mascot horror genre, trading slow and creeping terror for high speed action and skill based challenges.
Star Overdrive isn't trying to be the next massive open-world blockbuster, but what it offers is focused, stylish, and incredibly fun. It captures a sense of movement and freedom that's hard to describe until you've flown across a massive dune, trick-boosted off a rock, and landed mid-swing into an enemy group. It's got bugs, some literal, some framerate related, but it also has soul which becomes clearly apparent as soon as you start playing. It knows what it wants to be and hits the mark with flair. If you like style forward games with movement based exploration, layered dungeons, and a keytar that hits like a truck, Star Overdrive is the perfect addition to your collection.
Team Ninja has successfully transplanted the gameplay of Nioh into an open-world adventure. The combat is deep and exhilarating, with dozens of combinations of weaponry and fighting styles to try out. It's different enough from its predecessor to stand on its own, while still being familiar and comfortable to fans of their previous titles.
Despite some friction from voice acting and annoying puzzle bits, I think this is a solid experience worth enjoying on PS5.
