TechRaptor's Reviews

Occasionally rough around the edges, The Council's first episode is a surprisingly entertaining combination of Telltale's episodic adventure games and tabletop RPG elements.

3 / 10.0 - Apex Construct
Mar 12, 2018

Apex Construct has an interesting set up and some great visuals, but falls apart quickly thanks to poor gameplay, frustrating systems, many glitches, and a story that goes nowhere.

Fatal Bullet sets itself up for excellence, only to fall short in almost every area. Fans of the Sword Art Online universe might enjoy the ability to play alongside characters from the series, but Fatal Bullet struggles to keep itself afloat, even with its relatively short runtime.

3 / 10.0 - Past Cure
Mar 6, 2018

Past Cure is a hodgepodge of stealth, action, and drama that reaches for the stars and falls somewhere far below.

Stellaris' Cherryh update does much to make combat actually enjoyable, while the Apocalypse DLC acts like extra frosting on an already delightful cake, though it's definitely not going to be for everyone given the nature of the game and the learning curve.

There is a lot wrong with this remake and a lot of missed opportunities in terms of updating a game for the modern age, but at its core, it is still Secret of Mana and that is a game that everyone should play at least once.

7 / 10.0 - Subnautica

Subnautica is an underwater survival game with a compelling narrative, although some design choices, oversights, and bugs hampered my enjoyment of the title.

Blasters of the Universe has some good ideas but fails to execute them. Combine this with unfortunate glitches and an extremely short running time, and there's not much reason to blast in this universe.

8.5 / 10.0 - Fe
Feb 25, 2018

Fe is an enjoyable puzzle platformer with an adorable protagonist. The camerawork and murky narratives could both be improved, but neither prevents this from being a fun, forest adventure.

Shadow of the Colossus is a timeless game that is timeless art, one worthy of not only of this great remaster, but of all the accolades it rightfully deserved in 2005.

Every time I got into a match in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT I was honestly enjoying myself. It's just a shame that every single element around the combat is a total mess.

The game I played is an absolute technical disaster that barely runs. New elements haphazardly pop up with no consideration on how to fit them into the gameplay. Basics such as storytelling take a massive leap backward. Dynasty Warriors 9 isn't just bad. This is a Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 level series killer.

The Fall Part 2: Unbound is a fantastic sequel that takes many of the elements of the first game and improves on them, creating a fascinating story and fun blend of gameplay elements.

8 / 10.0 - Crossing Souls

While Crossing Souls treads the line between challenging and frustrating, there is a lot here to get excited about. Strong and varied gameplay mixes beautifully with a well written story and great music and graphics.

7 / 10.0 - SpellForce 3

What Ails You manages to be the best episode of Batman: The Enemy Within so far. It sets up the series finale to be something I absolutely can't wait to see.
