Hammerwatch 2 retains the same Dungeons and Dragons feel as the original game, but this time is less friendly for those looking to play the game by themselves. There's plenty to do, but sometimes it just feels like it was tacked on. Regardless, if you have some friends or randoms to play Hammerwatch II with you, it becomes a better experience.
Overall, Septaroad Voyager has a very addicting gameplay loop for someone like me who adores the gambit system of Final Fantasy XII, and I see myself doing quests to add more SP to my characters and build them to be even more powerful. If you are someone who enjoys that system, I would recommend this game to you.
Another new change with Shadow Warrior 3 Definitive Edition is the Hero Mode for the story playthrough. Hero mode makes it, so you have a limited amount of lives in a playthrough. If you lose those lives, you’ll have to restart the entire story mode again. It is a good test to see how well you remember the game and some of the tricks for each arena.
Steel Assault is a great time if you have an hour or so to kill and want something that wears its retro influences on its sleeve. It’s stunning to look at and has some of the tightest controls of a 2D platformer on the market right now It’s one I’d recommend for anyone that still has a taste for the classics or for anyone that wants to try something new when ignoring their already overwhelming backlog.
Star Wars: Republic Commando is the type of Star Wars game I wish we were getting more of these days. Its tight gunplay and tactical commands still hold up remarkably well and its story has big Clone Wars energy. It may be short and lacking in extras but it still manages to be a great experience after 16 long years lost in The World Between Worlds.
All in all, it’s not a bad port. It’s definitely not as rough as Nioh 1 was, but it does need another round or two in the optimization department. There’s no reason why one of the best GPUs on the market, combined with still equally decent CPU, should be seeing the performance I observed. I could see if this was confined to just playing at 4K, but even 1440p was a chore. Once KT addresses this, the game will be in a better position.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a narrative that's familiar, dense, mysterious, and groundbreaking. While it's strategy RPG combat could use more depth, it's story encapsulates the appeal of video games.
Dark Devotion has a lot going for it. Sadly, the cons outweigh the pros and drop in several systems that really need to be fleshed out before the game can shine. Until that happens, this game will leave you frustrated and lost, which isn't a good feeling.
All in all SoulCalibur VI is an amazing package with more character content on the way sure to keep any player having a good time.
Life is Strange 2 is entirely separate from the it's predecessor in terms of story and characters, yet it manages to capture the same atmosphere that makes the series so special. It isn't always subtle in its message, but the game is a powerful story about injustice and family all the same.
Fire Pro Wrestling World is a love letter to professional wrestling, but only to the most hardcore of hardcore fans. If you enjoy the deep customization suite – despite the lack of efficiency that has plagued the series, something that WWE 2K aims to fix in WWE 2K19 – and the opportunity to have nearly one-thousand created wrestlers in your game, you'll find hours of enjoyment baked into the action. However, if you're looking for something accessible, quick to get into for a quick match or two, search elsewhere.
I do look forward to seeing how everything ends this season. They've got a perfect setup, now let's see if they execute it.
With the right setup and using a gamepad, Nioh is an enjoyable and passable experience on the PC. There's lots of content, the gameplay is fun (if you like this style of gameplay).
As a lover of RPGs, this game is extremely lacking, and it caters only to previous fans of the series.
There are things to like about it, and I didn’t hate every minute of the 5 hours I put into it to get through the first 2 worlds, but I don’t see myself wanting to rejoin Thomas and Carlie on their quest to gather the rest of Thomas’ missing postage.
There is no real reason to play this game, and I'm not ashamed to tell you to do either one of two things: Go play Fire Emblem, Hyrule Warriors or even Dragon Quest Warriors. Or put Omega Force and Koei Tecmo on notice for putting such little effort into this title.
Saban's Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Mega Battle is a cheap cash in and the price reflects it. However the game is so bad that it's not worth buying. My recommendation is wait for it to hit one of those PS+ or Games with Gold free game deals and then maybe think about it.
Umbrella Corps is the type of game that you would expect to get for free through Steam or Playstation Plus, it's not something that you would pay $30 for. I love Resident Evil and I'm usually willing to forgive CAPCOM for making cash-in titles for the most part, but there is no way I can recommend anyone including hardcore Resident Evil collectors give this game a try. AVOID LIKE THE T-VIRUS!!
We Happy Few is a game that promises to be one hell of a good story drive ride from start to finish, but what we got was something that is so full of bugs and crash issues that it completely ruin the experience. Frankly We Happy Few needed to spend more time in development than it does being played. When something like this starts on Kickstarter, sometimes it just need to stay there. We Happy Few’s story is a highlight and should be an animated film more than a less-then-playable video game.
