Demon Pit is a fiery good time.
Eclipse: Edge of Light is a nice little sci-fi adventure that manages to make a good impression and it is a good adventure to go on despite its short length and limited scope.
Lightmatter is full of sarcastic, self-aware humor. The puzzles are incredibly well put together and satisfying to solve. Visually distinct with high contrast between light and dark areas, Lightmatter makes objectives clear.
I would really love to see this combat system in a third entry with better levels, more complex characters, and good writing that ties it all together. It’s great to see both games packaged together for a single price but they are so similar that I can’t imagine playing through both of them all the way through.
Flaws aside, this is the best Power Rangers game so far and I can only hope that nWay continues to create and iterate within this franchise. Battle for the Grid is a stellar game for Power Rangers fans and it was clearly made by people with equal love for these heroes.
Yacht Club proves yet again with King of Cards that they are masters of their craft, lovingly creating games that boldly mix genres and head in directions you’d never guess a traditional platformer would go. The card game mixes things up nicely, creating breaks of challenging card-based strategy in between action platforming.
Showdown gives players even more ways to play around with and lets fans beat each other up as their favorite knight or side character! It is definitely a welcome addition to the trove.
While making a few adjustments to a tried-and-true formula, Narcos: Rise of the Cartel is a surprisingly enjoyable tactical strategy game that does its job well with the Narcos license.
Guns, violence, dubstep is all you need in Super Mutant Alien Assault.
Gunpowder on the Teeth is a compact and straightforward shooter and platformer with solid mechanics and presentation that is hampered by sheer hardcore challenge and level design that could have used work. For those that survive basic training and are up for the missions, Gunpowder on the Teeth is a solid adventure.
Red Dead Redemption 2 breaks the rules of the games I tend to enjoy. Lower on my preference list are both life simulators and open world, yet I found myself thoroughly engrossed in what was offered.
BDSM is a rip-roaring good time, despite its short length and sacrifices to its visual presentation.
Sim fans will definitely enjoy this one.
Mastering the tracks at higher difficulties may become repetitive, and for players not interested in the eWRC challenge, the game may lack enough multiplayer aspects to hold interest for a long haul. However, it’s also incredibly rewarding to finally master a course, and the feeling of racing along narrow lanes at high speed is unmatched.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the three best Call of Duty titles to be released within the last eight years. This game is a beautifully crafted tactical collaboration that makes players want to come back for more.
After years of seeing praise for this game, I found myself underwhelmed. It seems to run like a dream on Switch and this is the Definitive Version of the game, so all the extras are here, but I just didn’t find myself as in love with it as I’d have hoped.
The Outer Worlds is in a prime position to make its mark on the genre, successfully combining aspects from a number of critically praised games like Bioshock, Borderlands, and it’s primary inspiration Fallout.
Ultimately, Ghost Blade HD is a wild good-time and excellent shmup experience. While short, the game’s sharp gameplay mechanics and stellar presentation make this an incredibly engaging spaceship shooter that all Nintendo Switch owners should have in their library.
Daemon X Machina is a solid, mech-action experience that wears its anime influences on its sleeve and goes to town delivering an exciting, fun, and engaging action game. While the story is unfocused, the potential is there, and should a sequel be made, I would love to explore this world more.
If you can look past the ugly artwork, you’ll find it really is a good game with hours of fun!
