Infinite Warfare lacks the polish and action we love from the COD series. The space theme is great, but the campaign is mundane, and the multiplayer is buggy. The only star this year is the zombie mode.
Dead Rising 4 has everything we love from the series, but bigger and better than ever.
There has not been a Resident Evil that we have managed to connect with in a long time. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard has changed all that. All the puzzles, all the scares, and the fantastic feeling you get while playing the game. It is a horrific, in all the right ways.
In the end, Nioh is a magnificent experience that Dark Souls player will love. Is it better than our Game of the Year for 2016? No, but it is a good substitute that does a great job in bringing a new world to life in the grittiest way possible.
Halo Wars 2 feels like a great addition to the Halo series, and successfully makes all the battles feel believable and relatable at the same time. Sometimes the unit restrictions might feel a bit on the low side, but the game’s core mechanics, work around this.
The game builds on the experience of previous titles adding an increased level of beauty and scale but doesn’t really add a huge amount of innovation to win over brand-new entrants to this genre of gaming.
While you always know what you are getting with a FIFA game, this year delivers a highly polished and well refined offering with just the right amount of new.
You won’t find a more tightly executed racing game anywhere else, providing a fantastic driving experience.
