3 / 10.0 - Orbit
Oct 5, 2015

In the end, Orbit's use of gravity is an interesting and cool idea, but it is let down by the mediocrity present in the rest of the game. You are much better served spending your money on a game that will allow you multiple ways to play rather than on Orbit and the baffling decision to leave out single player or online multiplayer. These omissions will likely lead to many gamers purchasing this game for the concept, and then rarely (if ever) starting it up again.

9 / 10.0 - NBA 2K16
Oct 5, 2015

NBA 2K16 might be the best NBA game out there today. It's one of the best sports simulations I've ever played, the TV feel has been captured better than any other sport simulation.  The gameplay also managed to feel like an actual Basketball game, and the gameplay has had some significant changes from last year to help make it that much better. There's also a lot to do in the game with MyCareer and MyGM being the best examples of sandbox modes that will keep you coming back to this great game until next year.

8 / 10.0 - Kaiju Panic
Oct 12, 2015

While Kaiju Panic isn't going to win any awards or fans for its contributions toward the strategy genre, it is still a very fun, cute, and refreshing addition to the tower defense genre. In addition, the sheer amount of stages and Kaiju types to defeat provide a lot of content that make this game a great value and easy to recommend.

3 / 10.0 - Crimsonland
Oct 13, 2015

Now, this being a twin-stick shooter, Crimsonland's other failings could have been overlooked if the gameplay was fantastic. However, the gameplay is pretty basic as far as this genre goes, and it rarely elevates itself past mediocre.

7 / 10.0 - Rock Band 4
Oct 17, 2015

Rock Band 4 is another solid addition to the series, although the move from the previous generation to the current generation didn't do that much to make the game any better than previous instalments. The game suffers from lacking in content that we had in previous Rock Band games and as well as limited options. The developers get all the credit they deserve for what they did regarding legacy content, and I feel more companies should follow what they did to make fans feel like they're getting a great deal. Altogether though, it's a good, fun yet lacking Rock Band game.

7 / 10.0 - Laserlife
Oct 19, 2015

In conclusion, Laserlife has a very interesting premise that could have used more fleshing out. While the graphics and audio in this game are both very well done, the game would have greatly benefited from allowing the player to affect the music in some way as they play.

If you are someone who is really into Minecraft and understand a lot of the elements of the game, you are going to have a much better experience than someone who doesn't know a lot about the game. Even just seeing things like creepers, spiders, skeletons and zombies felt pretty cool just because I knew what they were and I could relate to how Jesse would feel in the game.

Overall the story is okay, the present day parts are really starting to drag the game down though. I liked the present day sections in the earlier Assassin's Creed games, but recently they have started to become boring and uninteresting. It just takes you out of the game when these parts play throughout the main story. They really need to make the present day storyline interesting again.

9.5 / 10.0 - Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5: Guardians is one hell of a rollercoaster for Halo fans. From the sombre and sad times to the action packed thrill ride, it surely was an incredible experience all around.

7 / 10.0 - WWE 2K16
Oct 28, 2015

WWE 2K16 is definitely a step up from WWE 2K16, the creative modes were sorely missed in WWE 2K15 and with the improvements added also made them the most definite versions of create an arena and championship to date. Presentation is also fantastic in WWE 2K16 with the audio improvements and no loading screens between entrances with a very smooth transition from one entrance to the other taking the loading screens place. It's awesome how much playability there is to have in WWE 2K16. Although the game has it's share of bugs, a terrible commentary voice over, and missing modes, there is still a lot of fun to be had with this game. 2K aren't there just yet, but they are starting to find a rhythm.

Overall, the game made a lasting impression on how I look at the Borderlands games and really delivered on Telltale's legacy of broadening the landscape of the universes they touch. Whether it be Borderlands 3 or Tales from the Borderlands Season 2, I can't wait to get my hands on the next one and figure out what happens to a few of my favourite "vault hunters" in the series.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider manages to carry on the success that was started with the rebooted version of Tomb Raider. There isn't much I can say is wrong with this game other than some minor issues here or there, the story was interesting, the gameplay is fun, and I found it just enjoyable to play through all the optional missions with the tombs being a stand out out of the optional side activities. Microsoft promised a huge end to 2015 for the Xbox One, and Rise Of The Tomb Raider has solidified that statement even more. PS4 users, although the wait sucks I can say it will be worth it in the end as Rise Of The Tomb Raider is a must play for all fans.

Overall my experience of the game was good and a lot of the systems in play were excellently integrated, but I found myself wanting something different out of the game and that itch just wasn't scratched.

6.5 / 10.0 - Guitar Hero Live
Nov 13, 2015

Guitar Hero Live was a decent attempt at rebooting the franchise, at first I was impressed with how everything was going. I was impressed early with how the guitar was and how the gameplay felt with the new guitar, but sadly as the game went on I started to notice things that dragged the game down. No practise mode being a huge miss for a game with a totally new control scheme, a freemium mode that is 50% of the game, and a pretty lazy career mode. They are on to something with the new ideas, but overall the game is just lacking in what it needs to make it a perfect reboot for this franchise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a fantastic package filled to the brim with enjoyable content. The new addition of cooperative campaign, super soldiers, and fun game modes tie this together as one of my favorite Call of Duty games to date. I feel that this COD will outlast the recent ones and will continue to keep gamers engaged at least until the next Call of Duty game!

6.5 / 10.0 - Need for Speed
Nov 16, 2015

Need For Speed was an okay try at rebooting the series. It comes with positives like the newly added features to the franchise such as daily challenges, wrap editors and the play styles which I really liked more than any other addition. The visuals and sounds in Need For Speed were stunning, and a real high point for the game. There are also some negatives like having no pause button plus the always online gameplay which was an odd decision to make. If you are a racing fan it's a recommendation from me, but non racing fans might not be that accepting for this reboot. I do however look forward to the future if the mistakes of this game are improved in the sequel.

9 / 10.0 - Fallout 4
Nov 16, 2015

Overall, Fallout 4 has surpassed expectations across the board with a great story, strong base mechanics and some excellent new ideas that really shake the pillars of the Fallout franchise while retaining the classic feel of the games. It's everything I expected and more and I fully expect to be spending a significant amount over the next few months investing a lot of time into this game.

To say the least, this game is underwhelming. It just seems like Nintendo really wasn't even trying with this game. It feels very rushed because they left out so many things – like a campaign and tournament mode. I found it fun to play initially, but I got bored very quickly. I wouldn't ever really pick it up to play again, especially by myself. The only thing this game is really good for is a bit of family fun, and that's about it.

While not without its problems, "Star Wars: Battlefront" delivers on most of the potential fans of the series were hoping for. The majority of its gamemodes are exciting and will have you talking about them the next day, while aesthetically, it utterly hits the nail on the head. You feel as though you are in the Original Trilogy. And with the Battle of Jakku and more free modes and maps, along with the planned DLC, "Star Wars: Battlefront" will not be leaving my disk tray anytime soon.
