3 / 10 - Fat City
Feb 2, 2016

[The planning phase] of Fat City is easily the most fun but, to be fair, it’s never really a challenge

The two-player co-op mode puts the rating up a notch and makes the game even more fun to play

With its realistic handling, impressive physics and accurately modelled tracks full of dips, ridges and undulations, Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo demands you to drive sensibly within each car's limits, yet always push yourself to achieve the best time you can

The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything is dull because there's no coherent narrative and no real gameplay. Add to that a non-existent soundtrack, horrendous graphics and a game interface which is prehistoric.

4 / 10 - Dogchild
Jan 28, 2016

Whilst the combat sounds functional on paper, in reality it is undoubtedly the worst part of Dogchild

It's clear a lot of TLC has gone into sprucing up the console version of Sparkle 2 to make it, well… extra sparkly

It's a widely held belief that good sound design can make a good game great, but the sound design in Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak makes a great game incredible

Like an RPG, there must be ways of giving the player a customisable experience that you can continuously tweak and invest in. But this isn't the case here. It just doesn't have enough variety to separate itself from seeming like a free flash game

8 / 10 - Pony Island

In an attempt to frame the antagonistic nature of the designer/player dynamic and ask why a game can't be simple, uncomplicated fun, Mullins has saddled his creation with an incredibly tedious third act

8 / 10 - Rogue State
Jan 24, 2016

There are no points for playing Rogue State like a Lib-Dem backbencher

Some may find the act of manoeuvring their space-car a little unwieldy – which admittedly, it is – but with all players in the same boat, it's fair, and generally adds to the hilarity of the whole experience

6 / 10 - Punch Club
Jan 22, 2016

Punch Club looks colourful, atmospheric and gorgeous. It's almost like playing an 80's cartoon approximation of Rocky

If you're up for a quirky puzzle adventure title and think you can manage the task, Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space can certainly scratch that itch, but there are much better titles out there that can do the same

It's unfair to say that Act It Out! isn't fun; it did provide plenty of entertainment – but then, a game of charades generally provides entertainment by itself

It's like the developers assumed everyone would know the game as well as they did, and decided instructions wouldn't be needed. G Prime really is a confusing mess for new players

Sure, sometimes the travel sequences can be boring and the combat isn't quite as fleshed-out as other games in the genre, but it still has that certain je ne sais quoi that makes you want to push on until you make it to the end

7 / 10 - Unepic
Jan 13, 2016

An RPG wouldn't be complete without some kind of character development, and UnEpic does not falter, allowing you deeply customise abilities to suit your playing style
